I will preface this by saying I'm a college student, so I elected for the delivery-free within Oneonta. This was my first delivery order in college, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I ordered:
General Tso's Chicken Combination- with pork fried rice, wonton soup and pork egg roll Chicken Pad Thai 2 Pork Egg Rolls Complimentary- Soy Sauce, Duck Sauce, Mustard and 2 Fortune Cookies
And no, I did not eat ALL of this. I ordered extra food to save as leftovers and eat another day (Save myself a delivery tip).
Delivery/Service: 4/5 I ordered this for delivery directly to my dorm and was told in would be about 40 minutes. Not bad for delivery time, but a little longer than I had hoped. However, I was given a call 30 minutes later that the delivery guy was only 2 minutes away. This 30 minutes was what I would have expected to wait, so although I was happy that it was faster than 40 minutes, I wasn't overly excited. Delivery man seemed friendly and drove right up to the door of my Res hall.
Quality of Food/Portion Size: 4/5 Immediately I was a little grossed out when I opened the bag and found grease at the bottom, although it may have been some soup that leaked (not quite sure). However, I then realized how hot the food was! For a delivery, I was quite happy with the way the food was presented and that it was not simply warm, but actually hot. I even burned my mouth on the Pad Thai 20 minutes after it was delivered! The portions of each were pretty big and more than I expected. The pad thai was pretty much springing out of the container and the general tso's was a nice portion. There wasn't much pork in the fried rice, which was a little depressing, but with some added soy sauce was decent. The general tso's was a little spicier than I'm used too but was okoverall. A little soggy-ish, it kind of squeaked when I ate it, yet still somewhat crispy. Egg roll was not the best I've had, but was far from the worst. I'm not a huge fan of soup but I thought the wonton soup was good. Portion size was too much not to give this category a 4.
Price: 3/5 Keep in mind I'm a poor college student, so money is tight! All of my food came in at $20.90, and $25 after a tip to the delivery guy. I got 2 meals, possibly even three if I don't pig out next time, and a couple extra egg rolls. I will likely be ordering from this restaurant again, so although the price was just average for Chinese/Japanese food, I can say I was satisfied for a...
Read morethis was by far one of the worst dining experiences that i, and my friends, have had in a while. firstly, when we entered the restaurant there was a weird odor. we all assumed that the smell would dissipate. spoiler alert it did not. it smelt like raw sewerage and was beyond the smell of any unfamiliar food, bad food, or anything spoiled. it genuinely smelt like fecal matter. we then proceeded to order our food and try and move past it. the issues started with the drinks and appetizer. one of us ordered and a drink and appetizer that didn’t come until after the main entree. all of our food ended up coming out at different times and it finally got to a point where some of us were cancelling the order or asking for boxes as soon as the food came out. when one of us decided to cancel the order, the waiter acknowledged and walked away. he immediately came back with the food and they were going to charge her for her meal despite waiting for 30-45 minutes. the wait staff not only seemed annoyed at our party’s requests and concerns but at times would ignore things our party would say. we genuinely did not want to be any trouble and exercised our patience to the greatest extent we could but the real kicker came when the check was split incorrectly. at this point we had asked for the checks and called a cab and we had to rush to try and sort things out as we were waiting for a cab. overall, the wait staff seemed incredibly frustrated with our concerns and repeatedly told us it was dinner rush and we needed to give them more time. this is understandable but the multiple different aspects of the dining experience only ran our patience thin for that prospect. if you’d like to have an exercise in your patience go to china 19 because you will truly be shown just how much you can handle...
Read moreAbsolutely never patronizing your business again and I am a repeat customer for many years. So long China19. Why? How about hanging up when a customer is trying to order, then hanging up again when confronted about it when I was still trying to order and asked why I was hung up on, asking can I please place an order... I was not rude to you to be hung up on in the first place, just trying to order and you hung up on me...twice! Extremely rude and unprofessional. I will not be hung up on twice by the ownership when trying to place an order. I finally got to the very nice front desk lady who helped me because I did want my chicken and the delivery guy was great, but it will be my last time ordering from you. I see your reply and that's blatant excuses! I agreed to order two orders of what I wanted when you had said I couldn't order extra chicken on the side like I normally do and in the middle of me saying that's fine then I'll order two orders of the meal instead you hung up! Then hung up again when I confronted you and tried to order two meals. Don't make excuses for your poor attitude and service! I have a management degree in restaurant and hospitality and you have totally gone against everything in our industry with how you treated me. Don't try to BS me. I completely understand what the current situation is in our industry. I'm likewise affected and I have NEVER hung up on a guest EVER. No matter how busy I am, I address their situation and find a solution as long as the guest is willing. The GUEST is who is most important. You've showed me you don't understand that concept. You are just absolutely horrible with your attitude. Again, I will never patronize your restaurant...I hope you...
