Homestyle Desserts Inc — Restaurant in City of Peekskill

I ordered a cake from this place and they didn't give me what I wanted. Asked for rosettes and they didn't give me that. When ordering the cake itself, I was shown the cake and when I came to pick it up, it didn't look anything like the cake I was shown a few days prior. When I asked about it, they told me that I was shown a different cake. I also wasn't given the design I wanted because I wasn't charged for it at the time I ordered it. If they had called me to tell me rosettes would have increased the price, I would have still paid for it. The cake I was charged for was $40. I would have paid extra if they had told me about the upcharge for decoration like $10 more. They had my number and they didn't even contact me. They just put two question marks on the paper when I asked for it to say happy birthday with rosettes.This cake was also, according to the description on their website, supposed to be garnished with caramel and pecans and they didn't do that either. This cake was for my birthday and my father's birthday. When I got it home, the cake was chocolate ( I asked for yellow cake with chocolate frosting instead of chocolate cake) and stale and tasted as if the had soaked it in rum. This is the last time I deal with this place again. This place is unprofessional. They have no clue how to treat paying customers....

The customer service is absolutely terrible here! I've gone many times and now I'm done with this place. The final straw was when my 80-year-old mother and I drove and met there to go pick out a cake for my father's birthday - a big event. My mother lives a half hour away. We went in and no one Came over to wait on us. We had to ask someone for help. (there were four people behind the counter doing various tasks and Ignoring us). We ask the people for help explaining that we wanted to pick out a cake. They said "oh you have to go do that online" and we were dismissed. That was all. Confused and dumbfounded, I said well we're here in the actual store. Can we place an order and you can tell us what choices we have for cake and fillings. They said no. So my mother and I literally had to sit outside the store, go on the homestyle website, and pick out a cake - while we are AT THE ACTUAL STORE! Unf&@^inbelievable these people are - not to mention RUDE! Every time I've gone in there the customer service is terrible employees are rude acting like you're bothering them. There was no one else in the store besides us that weekday morning- it's not like there was a line going out the door, and they were too busy to help. Never again. 👎🏻 Also. The prices are ridiculous for average tasting...

I stopped in on Friday night around 8:00pm because I really wanted a sweet treat and Google showed they were open until 9pm.

I pulled into the parking lot and there was a truck near the door with an older man standing by it and a woman was outside as well on the phone. They sounded like perhaps they were dealing with a stressful event based on the language being used, nevertheless you probably shouldn’t have these conversations (screaming matches) at the front of your establishment. I held the door for her and she barged in (zero acknowledgment) and went to the back area.

The young gentleman who was working that night was pleasant and helpful. I settled on an ice cream sandwich cookie (two chocolate chip cookies with PB fudge ice cream) and probably 1/2 dozen assorted cookies for my Grandmas birthday. The total was almost $20 😒

The ice cream had ice chips in it (like you get when it’s melted and then refreezes). The cookie was overly sweet, especially for a chocolate chip.
