Working with Seekricher Steel Window was a fantastic experience. We bought a house in northern Westchester County in 2020 that was built in 1925, which had several steel-frame windows. We wanted to replace one window with a similar one that was a different size and then add three others of the same size, and Todd Seekricher, who now heads the company his father founded, could not have been more helpful. All four windows have now been installed and look spectacular.
I also have a NYC apartment in a building built in 1925. The owners of one of the two penthouses did a complete renovation a few years ago, and they had all of the steel-frame windows and doors removed, refurbished and re-installed. It was a remarkable transformation. Only after buying the windows from Seekricher for our Westchester house did I learn that Seekricher were also the company that did the project in the NYC penthouse.
Seekricher is a company well-know and very well-respected by architects, contractors and builders in Westchester County and beyond. It is my understanding that they have the largest inventory of vintage steel-frame windows in the US (perhaps in the world). Seekricher is absolutely the place to go for steel-frame windows, and the company epitomizes the strengths, values and integrity that all of us like to think are associated with well-run, multi-generational family businesses. I hope I'll have the opportunity to work...
Read moreI had a problem: with 100 year old steel casement windows, the caulk was crumbling, glass was cracked. The windows no longer closed properly; cold air leaked inside. After a repair with another company went awry (we had smashed a window playing ping pong), I sat on the problem for years. I considered replacing our windows entirely. But, structurally, the outside frames of our windows are buried in the surrounding masonry walls. The effect is that they're nearly invisible. Gorgeous light streams inside - something only possible with steel. And the elegant panes fit beautifully with our home. I didn't want to give them up!
After much research, I eventually found Seekircher with their impeccable reputation. They did all the work on-site, carefully working their way around our home across 4 weeks. The windows aren't just repaired, they're like new. Todd Seekircher is completely savvy about the technical aspects as well as design considerations, guiding us towards how to combine the painted steel frames with brass detailing. On-site, Angelo managed a small crew, running a team that was organized, professional, pleasant and tidy. When he realized one of the panes they had installed had some scratches on it, they replaced it before I even noticed. These are people who take pride in the quality of their work and I...
Read moreWe needed to decide on replacement windows for out Tudor traditional steel casement windows or refresh the steel windows we have. New windows would have changed the character of the beautiful chestnut framing we have in the living room. We decided on using Seekircher to refresh our windows. We have been more than thoughly pleased. The team doing the work was very professional and courteous. They explained each step in the process. The end result was like new steel casement windows that are functioning as great as when they were originally installed. They are beautiful and tight. The price was also cheaper than replacement windows that did not have any character. If you want to retain the charm of steel casement windows and make them like new, we strongly recommend Seekircher...
