Summary: Cozy atmosphere with food that will remind you of a homecooked meal from your grandmother. Good selection of classics, as well as a good kids menu selection.
Atmosphere: Smaller restaurant, but very cozy and laid back. Décor is reminiscent of a small Italian shop. Tables are nice wood tables with comfortable matching chairs. Background music appears to be at choice of whoever is running front of house but is more background noise - definitely not loud. Restaurant was clean and well put together.
Food: My partner and I shared The Platter as an appetizer and drank the house tea. The platter was a good portion for the cost and was good quality. I had the lasagna and my partner had the fettuccini alfredo.
The lasagna was a good sized portion and described as having numerous cheeses and meats, which checked out. It was well cooked and absolutely delicious! The fettuccini alfredo was also well put together - the sauce had a good base, quite creamy, and the noodles were cooked correctly.
Overall experience: This was a nice find on a Saturday afternoon that lent us a quiet getaway for an hour. Be prepared to wait a little bit for the food, but it will be worth it. The restaurant advertises here that they are LGBTQIA+ friendly and a safe space for trans folks, and having been there today myself, I can say that they gave that impression and I felt perfectly welcome there. The person who waited on us was very kind and helpful.
We look forward to coming back! I will update this review...
Read moreThis was our first time to this restaurant. The hostess/waitress was busy talking with another customer so we had to wait to be seated. The restaurant was very chilly and my wife used her jacket to stay warm. We were informed they were out of lasagna. Our order was simple: spaghetti with meatballs and cheese manicotti. I substituted angel hair for the spaghetti pasta. The manicotti needed to be baked which took approximately 20 minutes. When the food arrived, I noticed spaghetti pasta mixed in with the angel hair with both pasta types being overcooked. The meatballs (2) were huge and difficult to slice up. In addition, they were cold in the middle and tasteless. The sauce used to cover both meals was sparse and possessed little Italian taste. It seemed to be more like chopped tomatoes in a very thin sauce. My wife’s manicotti was also cold and the individual manicottis were tough/difficult to slice up. All in all, I feel being out of one of their most reviewed menu items (lasagna) was unacceptable. The other menu items were cold, overcooked and different to cut into pieces. The overall taste also left a lot to be desired. This was our first and unfortunately last visit to...
Read moreWhat a great authentic Italian restaurant in Plattsburgh! The owners are three sisters using their mother’s Italian recipes and the food was delicious! We just stopped in for lunch on our way to Quebec City for my birthday and we saw the reviews and decided to stop to eat. It’s even better than what was said in the reviews. Very nice atmosphere and music. Outstanding service from the owners that are very friendly and a well decorated dining room plus another more casual room that’s also perfect. Our food was delicious! The tomato sauce was outstanding and my grandmother would approve! A good tomato sauce is key in an Italian restaurant. I’m Italian from NYC and I’m very picky about my food. For dessert we had the cannoli dip and it was delicious! The Italian cheese cake is also a favorite. I highly recommend eating here if you’re in town or passing through like we were. Trust me that’s Italian the real deal!! We’ll be back again. The lasagna is another favorite here and from what the owner told me they make it like my grandmother (Nonna) used to do so it’s mouth watering! The food here is made with love!...
