I didnt get a chance to stay here but im glad we didnt. my husband and I just moved here and needed a month long stay until we could find a place to live. I husband was a witness to the most racist act he has ever witnessed in person. You hear about things like this all the time but it doesnt hit you that we are still living in such a racist world still in 2023 until something like this happens to you or in front of you. As an African American woman I could not just stand by and not help the young woman who was being victimized by this hotel. My husband was appalled by this locations actions and we gave her both our full name and contact information if she needed my statements to help her with anythinf involving this issue. SHE DESERVES A FULL REFUND NOT JUST PARTIAL!! This is unacceptable especially with her stating multiple times she had proof that what they are accusing her of is not true. In my opinion a person who is guilty of doing wrong will not openly admit to having proof to something they did that is wrong ! The young lady willingly showed me the video and that is why im stepping up as well! Ridiculous had they took the time to watch the video they would feel very stunned that the housekeeper wasnt being truthful and probably did steal her belongings. The manager was disgustingly rude to this woman while over the cell phone of the attendant who was also very nasty to her for no reason right in front of my husband! That is bad customer service. I will gladly attest to what happened as her witness because this is highly unacceptable. The black community makes up for half of the tourist economic value here! We come to get away and its sad to witness something like this and know this is where i chose to move my BLACK family to! This is horrible and horrifying, im appalled at the way Days inn staff treated this young lady. The young lady was calm and I supported her decision to walk away without involving police because god only knows how that would have ended. Its sad that as African Americans we have to record everything for our benefit, then the establishment refused to issue a refund. That was enough for me to know to never ever stay here. I hope this makes its way to the higher ups and this establishment takes this serious and removes these types of employees from their establishment! This kind of bad customer service will have the entire black community boycott your hotels if this is pushed under the rug. I understand the black community isnt as important to the days inn however in 2023 establishments have taken hard hits from supporting discriminatory acts! DAYS INN you need to do better. I hope that young lady was able to get a refund and a better place to stay far away from being victimized because of her race! Shame on this entire hotels staff for this. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE IM GLAD I DODGED A BULLET! TO THINK THAT COULD BE MY FAMILY DEALING WITH...
Read moreWe are from the area but always spend at least one weekend away for ourselves every other month. I have stayed at dozens of different hotels over my lifetime and this is in the top 3 of the most disgusting. Our weekend started as soon as we walked through the door of the hotel and walked down the musty mixed with old cigarette smoked hallway. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and chair rail slowly falling down. The disappointment didn’t stop. We got to our room #108 and proceeded to open the door. The same smell hit us as soon we pushed open the door. Straight ahead you could feel the moisture in the air, stained carpet, wall paper with water stains falling off at the seams with mold underneath. White sheer curtain panels with water stains and yellow smokers stains. As we turned to look at the cushioned chair, the back, bottoms and top of the chairs were stained with what appeared to be old liquid that darkened and set in. The ottoman the same. We didn’t sit on either one the whole 2 nights. The desk chair was no different. This was a king suite w/jacuzzi so when we turned to it the jacuzzi was not a newly renovated but an 80’s hunter green with carpeted steps frayed and falling apart at the seems. We went to put our leftovers and drinks in the fridge to find it warm. I attempted to turn the dial up and it was at the coldest setting. I then went to unpack my bags and sit them on the bench and decided the to stand them up instead because the bench was also filthy and stained. When I decided to shower for bed, the tile was cracked and broken. That was probably the least of our problem. When I turned down the sheets for bed, also I didn’t walk in the entire room without shoes. The sheets had long black hair and what appeared as possibly men’s leg hair or pubic hair. I went to the front desk at that point to see if I could get my sheets changed. She was a tiny, young polite blond. She said she would be more than happy to get me a set. I asked if I could get a completely new set plus blankets and pillow cases replaced. She said of course. Housekeeping was working I would need to put them on myself. I asked for a different room but it was the only jacuzzi suite available. The new sheets had cigarette holes and nothing smelt clean. More like a wet dog. If anyone wants to stay in the area we would recommend the Microtel. They are renovated, clean, inexpensive but gorgeous jacuzzi suite. We will never stay at this Days...
Read moreI've been traveling to Plattsburgh for the past four years and have always stayed at the Best Western Plus. However, for this fourth trip celebrating my son's graduation from SUNY Plattsburgh, I decided to try this hotel instead, attracted by the appealing photos and a price that was $100 cheaper than other options. Unfortunately, the experience was so poor that if I could give negative stars, I would. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was visibly sick, coughing constantly without any effort to cover their mouth. To make matters worse, they seemed completely uninterested in helping or even being there. I was handed keycards and told to keep them away from phones and other objects (I can’t even remember what else they said). Despite carefully keeping them separate from my phone and wallet, the keycards barely worked it took several frustrating minutes each time to get into the room. The room itself had a musty, moldy odor reminiscent of wet clothes. The bathroom was not clean, the lotion bottle was empty, and the soap dispenser was bone dry. Given that the hotel was fully booked for graduation weekend, I didn’t bother complaining and instead went to Walmart to get my own cleaning supplies, soap, air freshener, and washcloths. The room only came with two towels, one washcloth, and a single floor towel. Breakfast was another major disappointment. Despite advertising breakfast as an amenity, the offerings were limited to powdered eggs, sausage, cereal, and yogurt. The cereal ran out after the first day and was never replenished. Bread was wrapped in plastic wrap in an attempt to keep it fresh, but it was clearly stale. Unlike other hotels in the area that serve a full hot breakfast, eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, and more, this hotel fell embarrassingly short. To top it off, I overheard another guest complaining about bedbugs and a dirty room. So clearly, I wasn't alone in having a bad experience. Lastly, the in room entertainment was incredibly limited. This was the first hotel I've stayed at that didn’t offer basic channels like USA or TNT, and there was no option to cast content from a personal phone something that’s become a standard feature at many other hotels. Overall, this hotel is in dire need of cleaning, upgrades, and better customer service. I regret not spending the extra money to stay somewhere I knew would deliver a comfortable and reliable experience. I will not...
