I got the Chicken huaraches, which wasnt traditional. beans and rice, a churro and empanada. I’ve had my fair share of Authentic Mexican food as it’s my favorite type of food, so I know pretty well what I’m looking for with an understanding that everyone cooks things differently… as much as I hate to say, the flavor isn’t flavoring like it should. Tastes generic/Bland. I thought I’d get more than just one... So $14.50 for one chicken nontraditional huarache(chicken taco) with a half bad slice of avocado is kinda steep. The flavor of the chicken just taste like they soaked it in chicken broth while boiling it.. rubbery as well. Not a lick of seasoning on anything. The fried beans were More of a watered down puree. Soup like. The churro was stale/hard. Been out for a while before it was served to me. For some reason, the empanada shell tasted like McDonald’s chicken nugget breading and there was absolutely no seasoning in the empanada stuffing, just boiled chicken and cheese. Doesn’t taste homemade. Overall, it’s something to eat if you’re hungry, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. It tastes rushed and not made with love, so It’s just not for me. I normally don’t go out of my way to write negative reviews, But I’m really disappointed. $30 worth of food that I didn’t even eat. A lot of corners were cut and you can tell by the quality…Maybe they had a bad night or something, I’m not sure but I wouldn’t recommend based off of...
Read moreThis place took over Sol Burrito, which was truly one of my favorite spots in the city. I tried Aguilera's for the first time today and it was a mixed bag.
Things I liked: The service was pleasant, clean restaurant, food was available quickly and was well wrapped and presented. I liked the menu mural on the wall and the Mexican elements brought into the restaurant
Things that need work: I ordered the chicken burrito, and while the price was fine, the food itself was pretty bland, all things held equal. The rice wasn't seasoned, there was an unfortunate lack of chicken in the chicken burrito, the size of it was terrific, but it was mostly filler. The wall claims that there was avocado in there and there was, at MOST, maybe a little tiny squirt of avocado sauce, certainly no pieces of fresh avocado.
All told, the place needs some work. I understand they are new, margins and all that, but you cannot charge $13 for a burrito (actually, a little more because they charge different amounts for card and cash transactions which I just abhor) and not have an acceptable amount of protein in there. I will return and try it again, but I just hope that the feedback is helpful. They certainly have the chance to be a solid place, just need to not skimp and...
Read moreNope totally bad experience with the food. First Latino food has specials characteristics that made it different from other countries. Taste and Seasonings but I didn’t find it in the food that I ordered. A basic flavor doesn’t taste like real Mexican food. No salsa or something like that.
Ordered a steak burrito and it doesn’t has beans and taste. I will prefer a Chipotle burrito (American brand) over it.
Then ordered A Chicken TORTA- wait never get shredded chicken in a Torta is supposed that is breaded chicken. Also, in the menu doesn’t say nothing about what kind of chick and nobody advised at the moment to place the order.
The lady that was in the front desk needs to be retrained about costumer service and learn how to give the best to the costumers. And yes you speak Spanish too
No I will no will be back to try this food. I hope you improve the experience about the food that you offer because the restaurant looks nice but...
