Galleria Pizza — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I just want to say that this review is subjective and is just my take on the quality and value of Galleria's pizza from a sheet pizza i ordered on a Tuesday night.

Customer Service: The customer service could not have been better at this place...that's always a good initial thought when ordering from any restaurant. So many mom and pop shops and even chain restaurants can't accomplish this..so kudos to the workers there. Calling to order and picking up was smooth and easy.

The below pizza quality review comes from a guy (me) who absolutely LOVES pizza. Eating it and making it. My pizza isn't perfect but over the last 5 years i believe i have a great recipe. Having this experience allows me to bite into a piece of any pizza and immediately tell what it might be lacking.

Pizza Quality: The dough was a bit tough and had consistency comparable to a Pillsbury pizza roll you buy in a can. I'm guessing this was an all purpose flour pizza. I'm also not sure what temperature they cook it at but i would suggest cooking it higher and not on pans. The best is to cook it on an aluminum screens....no semolina mess and the heat transferred to the dough is more effective yielding a crispier crust. The sauce while not bad, had a very marinara taste to it (acidic) and there was a bit too much of it. The cheese was your average mozzarella cheese. We got pepperoni and although it's your basic pepperoni most people use i much prefer the small cup ( wayyyy more flavor and the char cup look is beautiful ).

I will say however that a 1 topping sheet for 20.00 is crazy awesome. Now just imagine if you could buy that sheet and it was some of the best pizza you ever had? You wouldn't go...

Currently eating here and I ordered a plain slice and a calzone. The fellow at the counter was very nice and helpful. And frankly, that's why I gave them 3 stars. The food is just... Not good. Usually I don't say that, but the pizza slice was absolutely tiny, the calzone was a little skimped on quantity, and the quality of both, as far as pizza was concerned, was significantly below par. As mentioned before, they clearly cut corners on ingredients and size, and it shows. Nice people, but as a guy from downstate New York, they have no idea what they're doing making pizza...

Besides the excellent food I find a couple of things that really stand out about Galleria Pizza; 1. I loved clicking on the "See Inside" picture on this page and having a virtual tour of the restaurant before I went there - it helped me see how clean and comfortable the place is so I could make my decision to go there. 2. I watched as the owner of this place would greet his customers by name, and ask them if they were having their usual (and he would say what that was!). A man who truly knows and cares about customer relationships! I wish all business owners were...
