Genesee Brew House — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Gift shop, tasting room, mini-museum and pub/restaurant - all rolled into a repurposed 1904 building with magnificent views of the Genesee river gorge and the High Falls of Rochester from the outdoor balcony. The brew house also offers tours of the pilot batch brewery and hosts musical entertainment on various nights. It can be a little noisy at times with all of the many activities taking place, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. In a place where beer is born, tasted and sold, you expect a little exuberance!

The gift shop, museum displays and pilot batch brewery take up the majority of the the first floor of the building, while the pub restaurant is on the second floor. I noted that in several places, the building has been modified to accommodate people with disabilities - wheelchair lifts and elevators allow access to both floors and the restroom facilities are also accessable. An outdoor patio on the first level and balcony on the second level are open seasonally.

The restaurant has a semi-open kitchen which is visible from the bar and the tables nearby. Local ingredients including (of course) products from the brewery feature in many of the offerings on the menu. Everything that I sampled was prepared to order and arrived accurately cooked and nicely presented. Service was cheerful, prompt and pleasant.

Well thanks for ruining my fathers day gift to my husband and father. Got there at 345pm for a 4pm reservation we got our waters and my husband and father ordered their flights then our waitress came out to tell us her shift was over and someone else would be taking over but don't worry we would be in good hands well that was a LIE 25 mins later no one came back to our table still no flights had to get up to go tell the people at the front what was happening and that my mother was also waiting for more ice and a lemon for her water they of course scrambled to find out where we were sitting and assured to send our new waitress over. 10 more mins goes by and finally our new waitress comes over to at least say hi, 15 more mins goes by and finally the flights arrive. The waitress takes our order 30 more mins goes by at least If not more I order a genny plate but with chicken fingers the chicken fingers come chopped up in the plate and cold and fried so well it was hard and dried out as did my fathers my husbands reuben sandwich ice cold and tough. This was my husbands first time here and seen so many good reviews as well as the new flavor of beer on the news thought it was gonna be such a good place to bring him the service was so inattentive and the food was horrible and 130 dollars later thanks for a terrible fathers day pick. We enjoyed our visit tonight and Heather at the front desk when we walked in was an absolute sweetheart! She certainly is a good first impression of the company. She made a lasting impression as we came on vacation from Canada. So friendly, kind, and so nice to our son who's a toddler. There was another lady with brown hair whom I didn't catch her name unfortunately, but she was equally as nice! She was standing with her when we first walked in.

Our server Kayla was fantastic! Super efficient, explained everything thoroughly, brought everything in a timely manner, and was so amazing and friendly with our toddler.

The view on the patio looking at the waterfall was nice! It was surprisingly a cold day today for early September and the patio was actually so comfortable! Heaters worked great!

Bathrooms were very clean, and the food was great. We ordered a few different items between us all: hot dog, mac and cheese, pizza, and wings. All tasted great. My husband had the beer flight and he enjoyed it.

Lastly - as I made reservations via email I had the name Lorin? This individual was fantastic with communication! So prompt!! Much appreciated!!

I wanted to commend your team for their excellent service and attention to detail. It made our visit truly enjoyable and memorable.
