We were at a wonderful bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law on Saturday June 18th at LaLuna Restaurant in High Falls. It was a beautiful day, beautiful setting accept for the woman who manages the events. Her name is Noy & she is a very unprofessional, irresponsible, condescending, arrogant young lady. She called us to make changes to our arrangements at 9:30 PM the evening prior to the event. We tried to contact her a number of times via email & phone & she never responded till the week of the event. We asked for a written contract of all the details & expenses & never received that. She then agreed verbally to all our requests then comes up with different charges & excuses the day of the event. She walked in at 10:50 when the event was to begin at 11 & barked orders to us & her servers. The staff was not informed nor trained to do their jobs properly. Those young servers were so sweet but clueless. The only friendly professional was the bartender who tried to cover up for her inept behavior & was extremely helpful beyond words. I would never trash someone's business but I feel she was deceitful & knew she had us over a barrel at this time . Besides she tried to blame all her problems on the only working employee ( the bartender)!!!! If you do not want anyone else to be taken over, please repost this so no one else has their event ruined. It really is a shame that such a wonderful venue is under such poor management & that the owner will suffer due to him trusting the wrong person to run his business. To add insult to injury, we were at the venue 3 times that week to go over the cleanliness of the exterior patio. The Windows & patio had not been cleaned in a few years!! They promised it would be cleaned up by our event but could not promise about the cottonwood flying around. That is understood but the cobwebs, Windows & sweeping of the patio were not touched. BEWARE if Noy is in charge if you are planning an...
Read moreWe put a deposit down in March for a Jan. 1st 2021 wedding. Covid hit and restrictions started. ( Which we were perfectly fine with) On Nov. 20th we had our tasting with Emily and Stergios (The Event Planer and Owner.) During this time Rochester was in the Yellow Zone for Covid. Stergios stated that as long as Rochester does not move into the Red Zone for Covid that La Luna would have our wedding. Both Emily and Stergios both said if anything changes (Restrictions Wise) they will call or email us with any updates. On Nov. 25th Rochester moved into the Orange zone for Covid. We were not contacted with any updates to our wedding.(We assumed nothing had changed) On Dec 12th Governor Cuomo Banned Bars from being open and indoor dinning. We did not receive any updates from Emily or Stergios about any new restrictions for our up and coming wedding. ( So we thought nothing had changed referring to La Luna) On Dec. 27th ( 4 Days before our wedding) we received an email from Emily Stating that because of the restrictions they can not have our wedding on Jan. 1st. 2021 After a conference call with Emily and Stergios they claimed that this is no ones fault and that there is nothing they can do about. No one mention of moving the date or trying to figure out a way to make this work. I emailed Emily and Stergios on Dec. 29th saying how displeased I was with the way they were handling this situation. It makes me angry that La Luna is not taking any responsibility in this situation. I have yet to hear back from Emily or Stergios. They still have my Deposit and did not provide me...
Read moreMy husband and I got married at La Luna in August of 2017. It was such a beautiful, wonderful day, and this venue is an amazing space for a wedding reception! I will start with the fact that I was no bride-zilla and I did not have every single detail needing to be an exact specific way, which I think helped with how this place is run. The event coordinator does take her time getting back to you, but so long as you are giving yourself enough time in the planning process you will not have any issues. I found Noy to be completely accommodating to the majority of our needs leading up to the big day, I luckily did not experience the many short comings that many people on these reviews have brought up. The only bad I heard from the guests were the last ones to the buffet; and apparently they had run out of chicken. We had a great weather day, so we were able to utilize the outdoor space for people to mingle during cocktail hour and during the dancing. We had about 165 guests and there was plenty of room for more if we had needed! The bartenders were so quick and pleasant, the only lines I saw was when the bar had first opened for cocktail hour and then when it reopened after dinner. This space really is such a beautiful venue and I would recommend to anyone looking for a unique space that can work for any...
