My boyfriend was hungry but I was full so we stopped into this place quick after getting coffee at a coffee shop across the street. He got the “Gucci-jang” sandwich a side of French fries and really enjoyed it but wouldn’t order the sandwich again only because there’s too many other sandwiches that also interest him to try. You can tell whoever is making these made sure the toppings were evenly distributed so each bite had a bit of everything! He loved the visible sea salt flakes on the fries & found them to be perfectly salty. We even liked the music they were playing & the simple but clean and sorta cozy decor. The guy who took our order at the register today (9/13 @ ~1:30pm) named Chris I think he said? was just so kind, caring personable. Even though we only interacted for a short time, he really was so nice and had such a great vibe. We will have to come back to try the bulgogi sandwich he recommended (he was genuinely sorry they were sold out of it but said it’s one of their most popular so makes sense why!!). They have so many other options that all sound delish. :) Nice neighborhood lunch...
Read moreMe and some friends decided to try this while deciding what to do for dinner. I truly wish we picked anywhere else. We got 3 sandwiches to try. The banh mi was the best by far but still not anything great, the pork was pretty dry. The mortadella one was a lot of flavor but not in a good way, it was so acidic and hard to eat. The Cuban was horrific. The pork was dry and flavorless, we ended up unable to eat that one all together. I got the lobster bisque and had to throw it out, it smelled and tasted rancid. I’m crossing my fingers I don’t get sick from the bite I had. Overall very disappointing experience. We spent nearly $70 and half the food was nearly inedible. Maybe it was because it was close to closing or because we ordered it for delivery. I would like to find some benefit of the doubt but it was really a...
Read moreRiver Street Sandwich is an absolute standout in the Rochester food scene. Tucked away in a cozy little neighborhood. It serves up some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had — and I don’t say that lightly!
The menu is creative without being over-the-top, with something for everyone. I had the steak and egg sandwich, and it was perfection — fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The bread was just the right mix of crisp and chewy, and every ingredient tasted top-quality.
What really sets River Street Sandwich apart, though, is the attention to detail and the genuine friendliness of the staff. You can tell they care about what they’re doing, from how the food is presented to how they interact with customers. It feels welcoming, unpretentious, and...
