Been here a few times but I went recently and it was pretty busy. My friends were already there at a table so I went to the bar to get my drink. Two of the younger bartenders just straight up looked at me and just kept serving others. At one point, one of them just went on her phone after she looked at me with my card in my hand while I was standing there looking at her. It took my friends to ask our table server to go over to me and take my drink order.
Then we were at our table and our server (who was great), was gone for a while (we thought she finished her shift it was so long). The two younger bartenders basically went to every other table and served them and walked right by us. When I asked one of the bartenders if we should go up to the bar or keep getting our drinks at our table, she said after a certain time they no longer serve the tables so you have to go up to the bar to get your drinks. She then proceeded to serve the tables next to us and hang out with them for a while as we sat there.
At one point we wanted to get the football game on the tv next to our table. When I went to the bar to ask if we could get the game on the tv she said “we can only get Peacock on the big tv”. I said that was no problem and went back to my table and proceeded to see a bunch of the other tvs on peacock with the game on lol. She just didn’t want to change the channel.
The atmosphere is great and the food is good too but the service was particularly poor. I’ve never done a review before on here but I honestly felt compelled to do so because the...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. What happened at this restaurant was nothing short of disgusting. The so-called “manager and owner” came storming over to my friend in front of a group of 25 of our friends, waving her finger in his face and screaming at him like a lunatic, accusing him of being drunk and demanding he leave the property immediately. My friend, who has Parkinson’s disease, tried to calmly explain that he hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol all night — only water and Diet Coke — and that his balance and speech are affected by his condition. Instead of showing the slightest bit of decency or intelligence, she called him a liar, publicly humiliated him, and then had the audacity to call the police. This was not just unprofessional — it was blatant discrimination and a vile display of ignorance. The manager clearly doesn’t have the slightest clue how to treat people, let alone run a business. Singling someone out because of a medical condition is beyond shameful — it’s cruel. To anyone considering eating here: save your money and your dignity. There are plenty of places where the staff actually respect their customers. This restaurant is an embarrassment, and its manager should be...
Read moreThis is as easy a write up/review as I will ever have. Kings Tavern is the rarest of gems that is owned and operated by an amazing family of brothers who think of their business as their home, and their customers as their family. Is it a watering hole equipped with rich mahogany, leather bound books, caviar and Dom Perignion??? Hell no. But...it IS filled with other riches that separate it from all others. The food is very good, and is only eclipsed by the service...and the beer selection is phenomenal. If you are a sports lover...you're set. TV's fill the walls, including a pull down screen over top of the fireplace. The digital jukebox entertains when big games aren't over the speakers, and don't forget to join the mug club, as it's the best deal you will find in a mug club format. The clientele is 2nd to none, and if a safe place to laugh, relax, have a bite and swat back a few is what you seek??? You are definitely in the right spot. I personally can't put a value on the friendships I've gained nor the family I've added since walking through the door of Kings Tavern nearly 4 years ago. It won't...
