I am receiving my Bachelor's in Business and Art from ESC to fulfill my dream of running my own art gallery and/or museum. Originally I was going to focus in accounting, but the required Educational Planning class I completed with my mentor (she is fantastic!) helped me be honest with myself about what I really wish to do with my life, rather than going into a career I knew I would not be happy with. That is the best part about ESC; getting to create your own degree program around what YOU want to do, while following basic educational guidelines.
I have found the administrative staff to be extremely helpful and a majority of the professors to be easily accessible as well as fair in grading and respectful with both positive and negative feedback. (There was one professor that was not local, delaying response time. Another professor was only part time and seemed very inexperienced at communicating with students.) I had previously attended two community colleges and did not receive the same level of courtesy and help as I have gotten at ESC.
I highly recommend ESC to anyone that requires a flexible schedule because of family or work life. As well as to those looking for a change or vast improvement to their lives. ESC offers many different avenues of learning to fit anyone's busy life. I have learned so much in my studies here and have been given the opportunity to grow and flourish than I ever have been in my...
Read moreThis review is based on my experience of one online class this college provided, which I was able to transfer credits from.
The online class I took was principles of finance (BME), cost me about $1300. My professor was J. Visconti. I had to retake this course b/c i failed it at my main university. I learn more retaking this course than I did my first try. Several reasons: I had a Great professor. We used excel (better tool and relevant) instead of a old school financial calculator. Instructor's commentary of the lessons were impeccably relevant and sound) I was able to further understand the connections between real world usage of the learned knowledge.
In my case, YES, online version of this course is much better than class room style. Since, I have taken both styles of classes, I would recommend taking "principles of finance" online, preferably with J. Visconti.
If business is not your major, i would still recommend this class for personal knowledge. For me, this class was required as an elective for my major and I am glad I...

I was not told that there were no Digital Design courses until I was enrolled and completed my first semester! When it came time to enroll in the next semesters courses my MENTOR N.A. said "oh, there are no more courses for Digital Design, you have taken them all" She never told me I could go outside the college and take courses through another college, (within their program) Therefore, I was forced to transfer out (and loose a ton of credits) or bite the bullet and refocus my degree. I did that and it was the worst!! I took "children's lit and creative writing" BUT, NOW I HAVE AN ART DEGREE AND NO, NO, NO DIGITAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE i am unemployable in the DESIGN INDUSTRY and I owe lots of money to my financial aid loans. UGG i...
