My husband and I visited 151 on a Saturday night. It had a good crowd but wasn’t overly packed—plenty of open seats, and it’s a seat-yourself kind of vibe. Service was a little slow, but nothing terrible. I was hesitant about what to order after reading some of the reviews, but I went with the chicken quesadilla, and my husband ordered both the naked wings and the hot honey wings. The wings were the star—especially the naked ones, which had a great base flavor. The hot honey added a nice kick, and we’d definitely get those again. We also tried a couple of drinks. I had the rum punch, which was flavorful but light on alcohol. It's not a traditional rum punch—it’s made with Bacardi fruit-flavored rums, so expect a fruity twist rather than the usual Caribbean-style mix. Overall, it’s a nice spot to hang out. I imagine the energy picks up with a larger crowd. We’d come back, especially for the wings!

Well the setup was impressive atmosphere nice. Wide open comfortable seating. I don't go out to Schenectady much but this was a good choice. (Don't mind the beggars, they stand where they know people have money at night, it is Schenectady after all) Not much selection draft beer but I ordered wings and fries and got them in about 6 minutes and they were awesome. Homemade Bleu Cheese was very good. Came with a group looking to dance and have a good time, but we were probably half the people in the bar unfortunately on Friday night at 9pm *ouch* and didn't seem like the type of place to dance, but I'll give this another chance. I'm sure it's awesome when there is more going on.

I came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Amazing space. Lots of room for anyone; date, friends or large parties. I'm a single female in my late 40's..totally comfortable being at the bar by myself. Bartender Adam was very friendly and sweet. Had great beer/food recommendations. Good beer selection, local and other. I had the chopped salad and jalapeno poppers. Both were very good. Poppers were old school; crispy, cheesy and hot. The salad was more than enough. Greens were crisp veggies good and fresh and the homemade blue cheese dressing was amazing. Beer wad cold. Service was friendly. Take the time and come for food and drinks here. Great time!

Extremely Disappointed with Service at Restaurant 151 – Won’t Be Returning

I visited Restaurant 151 on a casual Monday night after leaving Restaurant 151, looking to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.

We were seated near the bar, and it took an unreasonably long time for our waitress to even acknowledge us. When she finally came over, I ordered an Old Fashioned and an Espresso Martini. The Espresso Martini came out looking and tasting like watered-down chocolate milk—completely off from what it should have been.

When I politely brought this up, hoping it could simply be remade, the response I received was: “So what do you want me to do about it?”—delivered with a rude, dismissive attitude. I wasn’t looking for anything free; I just wanted the drink corrected. The tone and lack of professionalism were shocking.

What made this experience even more disappointing is that I had already been warned by others about the restaurant’s reputation for poor treatment of minority customers. I didn’t want to believe it or base my expectations on hearsay—but sadly, my experience seemed to reflect those concerns. I came in just looking to enjoy my evening, not to be treated like an inconvenience.

As someone who works hard and chooses to spend their money dining out, I expect at the very least to be treated with basic respect—especially when giving feedback in a calm and respectful way.

This was not only a failed customer service moment—it was a deeply uncomfortable experience that left me feeling unheard, unwelcome, and disrespected.

I will not be returning. Her disrespect and throwing the check is exactly why minorities do not feel...

This is one of those local places that I really enjoy visiting with my friends for lunch and drinks after work. The bar staff is great, the cooks are good, and the environment is a really pleasant industrial design with a great view of Schenectady City Hall. As for the food, I think it's actually very good for what it is -- super simple, no frills, pub food. They use that "build your own burger" style for their entire menu, whether it be a burger, club sandwich, or personal pizza. My favorite regular meal is a mushroom-swiss cheeseburger with their fries (which are currently my favorite fries in the area). One thing I feels should be noted, is that they don't serve dill pickle spears with their sandwiches, which I thought was really odd. I often find myself missing that at the end of my meal.

For lighter fare, you can choose one of their salads, which is either a cob salad, or your standard garden salad variety. The dressings are good, but I personally hate boring old school salads and would prefer some variety like a salad with apple slices, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and blue cheese crumbles. Or even the standard Asian chicken salad with crunchy noodles, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries and a sesame ginger dressing. Pinhead Suzan's used to have one like this, but took it off the menu for some reason and Puzzles around the corner has a really good Orchard Chicken Salad, which satisfies that hankering.

Overall, I think it's a pretty good place to meet up friends to grab a bite or a couple drinks. If they could just elevate their salads and get some pickle spears, I'd probably give them...

    1. How I love thee. Seriously, a great place downtown to enjoy the game, an evening out or an early happy hour. Speaking of happy hour theirs is everyday from 1:51pm to 4:51pm. That will knock your 6 dollar drafts to 3 bucks during that 3 hour window. The carry a very good selection of beers and somehow manage to have a better tap list than every other downtown location. These days most places will devote 9 out of every 10 taps to an IPA. Sure you can get an IPA there but you can also get a good stout or a good porter too. I guess the only reason I didn't give them the 5th star is that their menu could use some updating. What the kitchen turns out they do well. Really great wings, a solid salad. Their pizza wont remind you of a traditional pizza shop pie but it is tasty and loaded with cheese. Food is cooked to order and comes out to you quickly. The employees there are super pleasant and genuinely enjoyable to interact with whether bartender or server. Cant say enough nice things about them. The venue itself is great. Large bar with an equally large bar on the outside patio. In the warmer weather that patio is fantastic for having a drink in the warm setting sun. They usually participate in both the soup stroll and the wing walk and if I'm not mistaken their clam chowder has won the soup stroll a few times. Pro tip...The founders breakfast stout on tap for 3 bucks a glass during happy hour is the best beer bargain in...
