Good help is hard to find, and Scotti's is unfortunately a prime example of this. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to! The recent updates to the patio are incredible....the food is tasty....and the owner is extremely friendly and outgoing. The same unfortunately cannot be said for his wait staff! Last night was my last time going there unless major changes are made. The waitress during my last visit was clearly overwhelmed and made that very well known, as a result the service was horrible the entire time. Last night we went for dinner, walked through the packed entrance to put our names on the wait list and head outside to wait. No one was available to put our name on the list. Instead multiple groups waiting to be added to the list were greeted by not one but two extremely rude waitresses that said we need to go outside to wait that we were in their way. We told her no one has taken anyones name yet and there are multiple different parties here not just one group. She ignored us and walked into the kitchen only to come back out and make another very rude comment about us still being in her way. The blonde waitress still refused to take names for a wait list rather said, "yah if you could make a space for us to get through and go wait outside that would be great" in a very rude tone. Its 2019 and this is a very small venue...to not take reservations via the many apps available is just out of touch with reality. Until I see the ability to make a reservation, and an elimination of some of the rude wait staff I will not be making the 30 minute trip here to just find out there is no availability, let alone to be greeted by rude employees when there countless other equally good options available that are...
Read moreWe dined at Scotti’s over the weekend - hadn’t been there for a few years, and we keep asking ourselves “why?”.
We made reservations and were greeted and seated promptly, a few minutes ahead of our actual reservation time. Our waiter was Santino, a personable young man in his early 20’s. My first word of advice in this: If you are fortunate enough to get Santino as a waiter, listen carefully to his recommendations about the specials, and FOLLOW HIS ADVICE!!
He strongly recconended the 16 oz. pork chop, and my wife ordered it. I was dead set on my favorite Italian entree, Eggplant Parmesean, and although I was not disappointed, my wife was enthralled with her choice, and offered me a small piece. It was incredible!!
The service was outstanding, with water refreshed regularly. Salads were promptly delivered and fresh - my only suggestion to management might be to offer a Ceasar salad option, but the lack of it won’t alter our plans to return to Scotti’s.
We ordered a bottle of Merlot which complemented both of our selections, and we also enjoyed the freshly baked bread, which I believe is baked on premise. It was piping jot and delicious.
We topped off our meal by splitting a generous piece of Tiramisu for dessert, which was also fabulous.
Scotti’s is on Union Street in Schenectady. Parking is easy on nearby side streets, and if you go, you will thoroughly enjoy...
Read moreBeen waiting to eat here for a few months, and finally had the chance. As expected, everything from the 50 year old Schenectady treasure was absolutely fantastic! The interior was dimly lit and cozy. The staff were friendly and professional. And the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food.
We started out with the butternut squash ravioli, which were nestled in a sweet and delicious white sauce, that had a hint of cinnamon. Next we moved onto a yummy traditional Antipasto which included salami, olive, and some provolone cheese. Then I had a few stuffed mushrooms, which were really hot and delicious ~ I recommend asking for a little balsamic reduction on top of them for some extra punch. For entrees, three of us went with the Chicken White Wine, which was a tender chicken cutlet with mushrooms, wine, and butter; all topped with mozzarella. It was freaking delicious and a hearty portion as well! It came with a side pasta, but you can get broccoli if you'd like to keep it a little lighter. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with a great tomato sauce. Finally, we finished with a plate of wonderful desserts from a local vendor. All of which were amazing. My personal favorites were the pumpkin cheesecake and the spumoni ice cream ball, while my friends marveled at the heavenly tiramisu.
Overall, a really positive experience, and I can't wait to go...
