UPDATE/RESPONSE TO Chef Eddie: Thank you for your response. However, I feel compelled to address a few points in your reply. First, when I visited your establishment, it was labeled as a Jamaican Restaurant on Google. I notice you’ve since updated it to a Caribbean Restaurant, which seems to align with the explanation you provided. That said, I won’t belabor the point about the diversity of Caribbean cuisine—it’s a valid statement but irrelevant to my original review. My concern was that the food didn’t match the expectations set by the original “Jamaican Restaurant” label. Additionally, I couldn’t help but notice that the restaurant is labeled as “Mr. Biggs.” Which island, exactly, does that name represent? Second, now that you’ve positioned your restaurant as representative of the broader Caribbean, I’m curious: Which specific islands and dishes are you drawing inspiration from? It’s important to clarify, as your menu doesn’t seem to reflect the authenticity or variety expected from such a claim. Finally, irrespective of cultural representation, the quality of the food was unacceptable. The cabbage was sour, the sauce on the chicken had an unpleasant smell, and the rice was mushy and poorly prepared. These issues point to concerns about food quality and storage, which transcend cultural or culinary labels. Quality and authenticity are essential when representing Caribbean cuisine. Since "Caribbean" is what you're claiming, I encourage you to come correct with both authenticity and the quality of your food moving forward. Best regards ORIGINAL: The food is absolutely horrible. This is not authentic Jamaican food at all. Im from NYC please let me know where I can find REAL Jamaican food made by REAL Jamaicans. (I know the guy is not Jamaican bc 1. His accent 2. he referred to rice and peas as rice and BEANS 🤦🏿‍♀️” Besides the food not being real Jamaican food; the quality of the food itself was horrible. The rice was mushy, he put some weird gravy on the supposed-to-be rice and peas, and the sauce on the BBQ chicken was weird. Also ordered curry chicken and the curry gravy was stiff and disgusting.

Mr. Biggs restaurant Caribbean food is good no frills food. Service was fast and friendly. I received the buy one get one deal and ordered curry chicken, stewed chicken, collard greens, cabbage and Mac and cheese. Portions were generous. Curry chicken and stewed chicken was great. Chicken was flavorful and fell off the bone. The greens were pretty good, Cabbage was fresh and tender. The mac and cheese was Ok. paid $18.62 with tip. I’m satisfied and will be back to try other menu options.

I moved to Syracuse from Buffalo about a little over a year ago. In doing so I’ve needed to find different everyday food spots to eat at. I like to support small businesses, and not go to the everyday chain restaurants; McDonalds, Burger King, Dennys, Fridays etc. This is one of the first spots I’ve ate at when I got here and I really enjoyed the quality food, the jerk chicken meal to be exact with my sides as mac and cheese and cabbage. I’ve gotten this meal from here numerous times in the last year or so. I got this same meal yesterday and I was really upset when I got home. For starters the Mac and cheese appeared that it had a slice of cheese melted on the top with no cheese in the middle, and it was dry. The chicken was good however I only received 3 chicken wings to which I paid $14 for. The cabbage was good , but the sides were no where near as large as they usually are. Please fix this I want to continue coming here, but I will take my money else where if the quality of the food is not up to the standards they...

It was a clean place and the guy behind the counter was nice, but our food was microwaved and the portions were small. Tons of rice, meat and veggies we're very small servings. Two maybe three bites. Plus the "rice and peas" was not real rice and peas, it was rice with kidney beans. Disappointed

Can't figure out how to respond to your comment, so I'm responding this way.... Yes our food was microwaved, the guy said he reheated it..... 2nd I worked for 4 years in FL at a restaurant, "Patties and Ting", we cooked everything from scratch, I know exactly what rice and peas are, I know what a frozen baked pattie tastes like compared to a scratch made one... I also know that in an order, you should get more that two ox tails especially when they are small and had no more than a bite on it. I spent $28 for a bunch of rice pretty much. Your cabbage and the greens we're good, but that's the only thing I have to say besides it was clean. Wasn't worth the 2 hour drive...
