Wow some locals in these reviews are absolutely bitter! Trust me when I say this - The Society is a wonderful addition to downtown Syracuse. Syracuse NEEDS this! I make my own matcha at home because there not one single cafe here that can make good matcha or use ceremonial grade & I finally found a place here that makes an amazing matcha latte. I’d highly recommend trying the matcha einspanner (incredibly delicious!) & their signature coffees. The decor and interior of this establishment is super unique and something new and refreshing for syracuse. I’m a NYC native - and I’m utterly obsessed with the society. The drinks are delicious and the smoothies are also so so refreshing. It’s ridiculous people are complaining about the price… it’s $8 to get any sort of grande and venti latte/coffee in starbucks, $8 in freedom of espresso (local), and etc i can go on. I honestly don’t think the price is uncommon or outrageous especially in 2025. Just appreciate the handcrafted made drinks, a new local business to support, the ambiance, and that a new local cafe that’s spacious to do work or to hang out with your friends, go on a date, or even host your club meetings & serves more than just coffee! if you don’t agree with the price or care for a “trendy” cafe in “your city”, then go somewhere else. I’m excited to see The Society thrive and hope the community embraces it!

Me and my friends stopped by to grab a nice coffee. We all ordered the miso salted caramel latte. The drink was well balanced and not too sweet which is typical for most coffee places around. We had my dog with us and the owner was so great with him giving him lots of pets and cuddles. 10/10 definitely recommend!

Cute spot! I got the Baklava Latte and loved the flavor and the workers were super kind and helpful. Excited for this addition to CNY!

I’ve ordered the same thing here almost every day for a week, and it’s never the same twice. At $20 for a juice and ginger shot, consistency and quality should be a given—not a gamble.

If you’re out of an ingredient, say so before serving, not after I’ve tasted or seen that you didn’t. And while some staff are friendly, others act annoyed when asked to do more than the norm.

I like the concept and convenience but until the quality and customer service matches the price, this spot is more frustrating than refreshing.

Updated reply to owner* To say that I’ve made custom drinks not on the menu is incorrect… I’ve ordered from the menu EVERY time and taken the SAME thing off EVERY time. So in theory it should taste the same every time. But what do I know about consistently satisfying a paying customer. Also, I like to actually taste the ginger and feel its effects. Thanks for making my decision to give this place 1 star that much...

I was hoping to get kava which is why we stopped in (and definitely will stop back if/when it as added!) but it wasn't on the menu.

The espresso and the pastries were pretty average compared to similar places in the area. My wife liked her smoothie but that seemed pretty expensive for what it was (the espresso and pastry were fairly priced).

Disappointed by the lack of food options other than pastries.

The atmosphere is nice (the place is beautiful) but not particular cozy which is my personal preference for a cafe.

The barista was very quick and attentive.

The place is similar to soul society (another cafe downtown) but with...
