Bagel Grove — Restaurant in City of Utica

Update 2/16/2020: Ordered online again. Noted the time and even wrote in "ASAP". Naturally I arrived a few minutes earlier than the time I listed. Not on the pick up rack. No big deal, it's busy. But my pickup time rolls around and I inquire about my order and the woman looks at me like I have three heads. She calls to someone else who informs her the order isn't even started. I'm not sure if these workers just don't know how to use their online order receiver or if they're just grossly incompetent. But I keep giving them a try every few months and they fail almost every time.

Placed a to go order and they placed it on the back counter to sit for 20 minutes while I waited. Didn't offer so much as an apology or acknowledgement of their mistake. Staff is utterly incompetent. Flies throughout the bagel bins. Takes 30 minutes if you order at the counter.

Edit: Returned home with the food and it was wrong. Not sure what is so difficult about reading a printed order from their website. It's right there to be double checked and confirmed but 50% of the time it is incorrect.

Go some place where they can read and know how to do their jobs.

Edit: Owner offered me $5 off coupon. Less than the amount they screwed up on the previous order. Used the coupon on 11/2/19. Put it in for 10:30 pickup. Not only was the order not ready at 10:30 but they hadn't even begun making the order. Absolutely the worst service in the Utica area. Guess I'll continue the hiatus of eating here. Maybe they'll get some competent staff but until that happens this is a one-star...

I have been here every morning at periods of time while working in close proximity and love the personable experience.

As I return after some time, I continue to be met with kindness, eye contact, and accuracy with the evolving staff.

Recently, I pulled in the parking lot at 12pm (closing time) on a Sunday. I had stopped at multiple places to grab some bagels along my route to where I was heading. I preferred to get them from here as they are made well, but it was out of the way. After no luck, I took my chances and drove there. JUST short on time- 12:01pm on the dot. I watched the gentleman let people out as they were locking up. I took the chance to ask if I could pay cash for a few bagels to make at home. It was refreshing to be met with “yes, come on in and you can pick from what’s left.” THANK YOU.

Those 3 bagels were topped with leftover filet mignon afterwards and it would’ve been a shame to pair that with a subpar bagel 🥯🙃

Poor quality! Paid $8.49, before tax, for a maple bacon, egg, and cheese which came with chips. Every element but the bagged chips was terrible! The bacon was more brittle than potatoes chips, dry and tasteless. The bacon is supposed to be the selling point of this $9 sandwich and it was worse than any fast food place- and they are across from McDonald’s!! The eggs are the exact same deal- taste like they were made hours ago and put under tin foil. Dont wanna assume but ive done that and thats what it tastes like. Service was slow as i saw two people walk in and walk out all while i waited for 1 sandwich. Used to love this place before the pandemic but the quality has shot right down. I had to throw out a sandwich worth almost 1 hour of pay!! Enjoying a sandwich from Charlies Diner for almost HALF THE COST!!! Same...
