Slice — Restaurant in City of Utica

My cousin Papo always raved about slice as he knew the owner. And he wasnt wrong that the food was good but the customer service has always been the flaw. Granted the girls at the front are nicer but the dudes in the back are, to say it nicely, rude. Over the years I have had a handfull of incidences where Ive had a few mess ups with pizzas not being made. I worked at a pizzeria for a long time so i get how it works. I know you get busy and sometimes an order gets away from you but in so you appease the customer. Hey im so sorry take a soda or I can give you %10 off or take a cake. If your good it doesnt happen often so it wont crush your business. So I go to pick up a pie last night. Ordered at 635pm. I was told half hour so I stopped ran a couple errans and got there at 705. I payed and was then told 10-15 mins. The girl checks in the back and comes back and says sorry its really busy so i go ok. I have my kid in the car I'll go back out and come back in. I come back in 15 mins later and she tells me 20 more mins as i watch the dude grab my shell and say its going in now. So the pizza was never made so now I go back outside with my son. I come back in 15 mins later and wait. Its still not done. The girl goes back and checks with the pizzamaker he asks her how long its been and she said like 50 mins and he says so what is he pissed about. I did not flip out or say anything rude i just stood there looking pissed and rightly so. Well now you know what I was pissed about i got my pizza at 745. Thats over an hour for a pizza with 40 minute wait and no courtesy of a slice, drink, discount or a follow up apology. I even had to remind the girl that I had a bleu cheese with my pizza. I can tell you that I will not be returning or recommending this pizzeria any longer. And its sad because we actually like the pizza but its not worth the...

This place use to be amazing but whatever changed over the years (management or ownership or lazy employees with this as their first job maybe….) whatever it is now they are Aweful! They messed up my order the first time I went there as a returning customer when I moved back into the area, and messed up again today. Simple easy things they mess up, wrong toppings, wrong kind of pizza (ordered cold slices and got hot slices with cold cheese on it at full price not the discounted cold slices like I ordered) they just don’t pay attention or care about their quality as it tasted like nothing at all, no flavor in their sauce, probably canned pizza sauce… I work as a line cook in the service industry and you have to listen to your customers when they order not be on you cell phone texting. There are too many other restaurants to go to you can’t afford mistakes because people won’t come back to you so having some attention on your customers order goes along way. Instead of offering a solution to giving me food I didn’t order she said as she is laughing “I’ll remember for next time!!!” Yeah right! Unreal…. Romas pizza is number one in our area, boys from Italy in Rome is amaizing too, so if you read this save your time and go anywhere else but Slice on Genne or give them a try, maybe I just...

I order out pizza almost 3 times a week on average around utica area. Huge pizza fanatic. Im giving a 2 for the respect and flavor. I didnt mind paying 62 dollars until i had to sit around then noticed how extremely thin the pizza was... I use to get Slice all the time when it was owned by previous owner...I decided to try Slice again after years of not having it and craving the purple cow mix on the pizza and wings because of the recent Dave Portnoy rating of 7.7...i was told from ordering online that itd be ready by 715pm.. I drove 45 minutes and arrived at 720 and was told 10 min on the wings. 10 min. turned into 40 min. roughly. It was 754pm when finished.. I had my 4 kids and girlfriend waiting outside the entire time. Not looking for anything other than to see this get better. As of right now i wont go back. Flavor was great and everything was cooked good but its not worth that kinda wait time and i def. wont pay that much for that thin of pizza again. Just my opinion because i prefer it thicker.
