One Genny — Restaurant in Town of New Hartford

12/22/23, lowered to 1 star, deserves zero. ordered pickup, small og nachos, the cheese was so overcooked that the nachos were uneatable. Just a solid burnt cheese mess, see pics. Called & spoke to someone claiming to be a manager who advised since order placed online they would credit nachos & call me back once completed. No call back received, this is now 3rd time recently I received unsatisfactory food & was promised a partial credit which is never given!!!. This order was $90. Every order has been close $100. The quality of food here is now just completely unsatisfactory when ordering delivery or pickup. Probably in restaurant possibly better since you can address immediately. Stop lying to customers & credit when unsatisfactory food is given one genny!! SMH in disgust

11/10/23 update delivery via grubhub was prompt. Ordered Prime rib poutine, this should be served very hot, with cheese & gravy both hot & bubly, cheese curds were hard, cold, not soft, gooey & melted. Prime rib cold & very little this time. fries seemed somewhat warm, not hot. A long black hair was found on top of it, ugh gross 🤢🤮 & Absolutely ZERO GRAVY ON POUTINE! See pics. Im basically Paying $16 for fries with dabs of cheese & few bits of prime rib. No gravy anywhere.... no thanks!

One genny are you no longer putting gravy on your poutine? This is like 4th time zero gravy. Asked for extra gravy on side, what i received was not gravy, it was a solid mass / clump of cold gravy. Why?? Sadly it's become obvious if I actually want gravy on my poutine I need to be prepared & buy my own.. or maybe start making my own..

Fish fry used to be delicious but last several have been very flat, not meaty & not worth $16, will no longer order fish fry. Upside down pizza is very good, so far just cheese ordered. Their food can be delicious. But the last 4 times I've ordered its been just awful considering how expensive it is. New cook maybe? Or perhaps they just don't care anymore. It's a shame they don't strive to be better or care what they are sending out to people. I'm not sure if I should just give up at this point. Tired of spending hard earned money on food made half fast & without care. Do better...

Bottom line: Spend a couple hours and order anything; it’s all good and you’ll enjoy it!

Long version: Took wife out for a date and ordered riggies, pizza, and Brussels sprouts, along with a selection of drinks.

Food: just delicious with large portions! They say it was a limited menu, but with a happy vegetarian and meatatarian, there was nothing to complain about.

Drinks: excellent selection of beer (didn’t check wines, but the one recommended was perfect for us), but I strongly recommend their One Genny branded brew (an IPA) or the Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald porter, though there’s plenty of variety for anyone. They even have the Empire Deep Purple, the first beer my wife has ever liked.

Service: they were obviously in training mode with so many servers shadowing others, but it only made the service that much better and highly attentive. No complaints.

Atmosphere: love what they did with the place. Brick/wood/steel with obvious attention to detail. If nothing else, use the urinals. No spoilers here because it’s worth the surprise. Lots of TVs with various sports on, and it was a bit loud, but we couldn’t hear any other conversation and I didn’t leave feeling hoarse.

Great place for a meal, a drink, to watch a game, to enjoy yourself and your company, and I’m definitely...

I'll start with the elements that were the highest in my regard.

First, the drink menu items we got were quite wonderful, so I highly recommend checking out their drink menu. The garlic knot appetizer was quite good--two of us split a single one, as they are quite sizeable, with a crisp outside, soft,warm interior and wonderful dipping sauce. Also, I found the service quite excellent. I saw some reviews here that complained about slow or poor service, but that was not the case with us, so I can't agree with them.

The atmosphere is very bar-and-grill. I've been to places that leave you feeling like you're sitting at the bar wherever you are, but this place did not leave me feeling that way. Still, it was a rather busy night (on a weekday), and so expect a bit of noise, though it wasn't overwhelming. We had burgers from their burger menu, and they were rather good. Not the best I've had in the area, but they were certainly strong contenders.
