It was warm and humid the afternoon my traveling companion and I pulled of the interstate (I-81) for a pit stop that included a pause for the nutrition cause at McDonald's on Arsenal Street across the road from Arby's in Watertown. Parking was limited due to prep work for a repaving of the fast food giant's parking lot, which is a much needed improvement and should be nice and "crater-free" when completed. Ordering was easy, but was slowed down by my wife's sweet tea order, which apparently can only be fulfilled over by the drive-thru window area, due to the lack of sweet tea and unsweetened tea dispensers in the dining area. My friend had to search for a clean table for us to sit at even though the lunch hour was long over. Finally, our order was ready and brought out to us, which we were thankful for. I'm still amazed that those who work behind the counter, getting paid $15.50 and up, have such lousy sandwich building skills (see attached photo of my McDouble). So, my compliments to the menu photographer: the misaligned McDouble did not resemble the menu photo much! Anyway, the fries were hot and tasty with just enough salt and the Coke was cold and carbonated (excuse the burps, y'all!) and the funky looking burger still tasted good to this hungry traveler. The restaurant is in need of a face-lift and hopefully is on the list for remodeling, but parents with children, and all other diners, will be happy to know this location has a full playground and seperate dining area for families with young kids. *=3 Stars for this visit as there's room for improvement. Read moreHonestly one of the worst fast food experiences of my life, Had a deal not work on their kiosk which was completely out of my control, so I had gone up to the counter and waiting at there for about 30 minutes just for them to tell me that there was absolutely nothing for them to do. It made so since to me, because their machine had broken (the screen had turned white and the deal I had put through canceled and would not let me retry it) So they had told me im not able to be served and that i’m unable to get the deal I just redeemed (which you can’t re redeem for another 15 minutes) I asked if there was anything they could do to get my food or if I could talk to a manage bc I didn’t see why they couldn’t at least type the deal in on their computer behind the counter, and they told me that no manager is going to help me or tell me anything different. I didn’t leave and asking if I could still talk to someone… then after asking for a higher manager I was told to leave the store or they were going to call the police on me, as she starts to pull out her phone and pull her phone out and started to call for the police. I was not being hostile or rude I just asked for a higher manger bc there kiosk broke and then I was refused my order. Read moreI like the food and some friendly staffs at this location but I've been in this location and had an unpleasant experience especially with the indoor playground play area because they are dirty and stinks like urine. I stopped bring my children because of that and I'm not sure if that have improve. My kind suggestion would be if there's a rotation for some staffs to take turns to do an hourly check up or run through just like the bathroom, that may help. Hygiene is an important part of customer service and satisfaction too. Also, please get the drive through orders correctly prepared especially with Uber Eats. I'm surprised when my Uber Eats customer complained that her 3 years old daughter's Happy Meal is missing. I literally have to drive back to get that meal and not get paid by Uber for doing so. I really don't understand why this location and the one in Calcium share the same issue of not getting orders correct. I use to work in McDonald's before that's why I'm disappointed and quite upset. If some staffs are not service minded, please go do something else.
