I really enjoyed my partner's and my meal here -- the ambiance is lovely with a fresh and clean interior of soft green and gold accents, and the food was all-around delicious. I know Peruvian food is heavy on the meat and fish so I really appreciate Quechua putting a handful of vegetarian options on the menu.

We started with the Papa a La Huancaina, which was a cold appetizer of potato and hard boiled egg covered in a creamy cheese sauce, it's a simple but delicious dish that's easy to share. My partner was intrigued by the Nikkei rolls that blend Japanese technique with Peruvian flavors so he tried the Acevichado roll. We appreciated the waiter letting us know that their remaining avocados were too hard so they didn't want to put them in the roll, but my partner did conclude that, while tasty without it, the avocado would have been a welcome texture addition -- we do commend their commitment to quality control though! We ordered two of their vegetarian dishes and both were hits! The Vegetable Chaufa might sound just like Japanese fried rice but it has a distinct smokey flavor that I really enjoyed. My favorite bite of the night was the Vegetable Tacu Tacu -- I loved the blend of crispy on the outside but soft on the inside rice and canary beans and the cilantro beer sauce is a lovely pairing for the vegetables it comes with -- it will probably be my go-to dish here. We ended our meal with the Arroz con leche which had wonderful cinnamon flavor, but I would suggest that they remove the large cinnamon sticks before serving, having to fish them out while you're enjoying your dessert is not the most pleasant.

Quechua cocktail menu is equally as fun as their food menu with several Pisco based signature cocktails and classic cocktails to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed my purple corn sour which had a great balance of sour and sweet.

tl;dr: Quechua is a lovely addition to the Capital Region dining scene. I look forward...

Bottom line: This is a top tier spot for the Albany area, and is well priced for the amount and quality of food they serve. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time if dining there at peak hours.

We stopped by on a whim and could not be happier with our meal. The menu selections are a breath of fresh air, with a delightful mix of interesting, new-to-Albany items to try.

The calamari appetizer was executed perfectly— light, airy breading with perfectly tender filling. The best we’ve had in recent memory.

The seafood Tacu Tacu (pictured with the flower) is a chef specialty, and is a layer of risotto-like rice, topped with a crispy pan fried fish and bits of mixed seafood swimming in a creamy sauce. This is a very well made dish, and can still be improved with a little more acidity (touches of lime? chimichurri dots?)

The ribeye (medium rare as pictured) is your generously-sized meat-and-potatoes entree, seasoned with a south American twist and served with four kinds of protein, plus rice and fries … all on the same plate. It even comes with perfectly cooked ripe plantains, alongside an incredible cup of chimichurri that elevates everything it touches.

The only drawback is that this restaurant might not be quite ready for peak rushes; When several tables arrived at the same time, the staff wasn’t quite able to keep pace and many tables were left waiting for some time in between each step of their meal. We recommend aiming for off peak hours, or allowing yourself plenty of time to relax and let the kitchen work its magic.

Overall, if the kitchen can keep up its current quality as it scales in popularity, this will become one of the top Capital Region food spots — we are so happy to have the chance to enjoy this spot at...

I was so excited to see a Peruvian restaurant in the capital region! The server told us the next closest Peruvian restaurant is hours away in Utica. I grabbed a bunch of friends for a weeknight dinner and we had a fabulous time.

First, there is a parking lot though it was quite busy/ crowded so I ended up parking on the street in front which was manageable. I was so happy to see the restaurant was full on a Thursday at 6 pm! Our server was absolutely outstanding! She was so sweet, enthusiastic about the menu and her job, and extremely attentive to the food allergies of my friend's 4 year old son who joined us. She carefully monitored what was happening in the kitchen and even asked them to remake his food when she noticed a risk for allergy cross-contamination.

The menu was enormous, only to be outdone by how big the portions were! The food was fresh, delicious, and authentic. The piscos and other cocktails were beautiful and delicious, and expertly blended!

My only warning is that the service was slow, likely related to how busy the restaurant was. The server was wonderful in updating us on the status of our meals, which is all you can really ask for when the kitchen is backed up!

All in all, this is definitely a gem in our area, and a place I'll be happy to revisit again soon. I wish them success and longevity! Next time if the weather allows I want to dine on the...
