Mr Halal Watervliet — Restaurant in City of Watervliet

The best "nyc food truck" style halal chicken over rice in the area. Both the chicken and lamb are very flavorful, no funky tasting meat. Good portion size for almost everything, the gyro... I don't even know how they close it. We have had pretty much everything there by now, except for the kebab, and everything was very good. I have two small criticisms, that will help show this is an honest review.

1 - The Philly cheesesteak, there isn't a whole lot of meat... but... it's a $10 cheesesteak. What do you expect these days? Try going and buying some steak yourself, you'll understand.. I'm sure if you paid a couple more bucks, they would add more meat. It's a very tasty cheesesteak either way. The chicken Philly has a generous amount of meat.

2 - They should start cooking the fried items first, so that everything finishes at the same time. They don't always do this, and because some of their other stuff is prepared so fast (which is awesome), you might end up waiting a bit while the other stuff is finished.

Overall, these are very small criticisms. The place has great food and prices, and they stay open late. What's the alternative? Spend a fortune at Bob's Diner? Spend double that at 76 diner? Are you up late? Are you hungry? Well, now you know...

I recently dined at Mr. Halal Watervliet, and I couldn't be more impressed. The food was exceptional—each dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and presented beautifully. The menu offers a great variety, and everything I tried was delicious.

The customer service was outstanding as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in ensuring a great dining experience. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and made us feel welcome from start to finish.

I order chicken over rice platters all the time. They usually have a bogo deal on DoorDash, so it's super cheap for a few days of meals. They stuff the containers to the point that I have to scrape food off the lid. The chicken is perfect, the veggies are always fresh, and the sauces are amazing. The hot sauce hits hard on my dainty, white pallette, but it's super tasty and the heat doesn't last long. I called today for a friend to ask if the platters are gluten free.
