American Deli — Restaurant in Clanton

I love American deli. I wonder why this location is more expensive than the others. This place charges $12.99 for a Philly while others charge $9.99. On top of that, the one in Prattville is more fresher than others. I came in a week ago, ordered a Philly and thought it would taste like Prattville’s Philly but this one was lacking. It wasn’t fresh, tasted like it was refrigerated and then warmed up in the microwave. Bread was real chewy and I can tell the difference between fresh and a little old. It wasn’t fresh but reminded me of slop. Prattville location, I give props to. The bread was crispy fresh, fries too, and the Philly was fresh. I really don’t get why food places won’t just make it as they go instead of pre making them and reheating it. Only thing that was better than Prattville was the fries because...

Been wanting to try this place for months but usually real busy when drive by and since not familiar with menu didnt want to hold up line. Today we were only ones in line and were able to take our time and see what they had to offer. My teenage daughter got the fried chicken salad and says it tastes so fresh and awesome. Its is a very big salad so i definately feel got moneys worth. I ordered the beef philly with chicken wing combo. It is a ton of food ( I shared with daughter and still have some left over) all tastes wonderful!!! It is not what i would consider fast food...was prepared when ordered so really hot and fresh so if come at busy time i imagine wait will be pretty long compared to the other drive thrus but this is so worth it if you have time. I don’t think I’ve ever left a review for a food establishment but wanted to make sure the new management that has taken over this location has done miracles with what it use to be. The staff working was super friendly, I received my order within 10 minutes of placing the order. The wings…..hands down the best wings I’ve had from any American deli over the past few years and 10x better than the food I’ve received in the past under the old management of this location. And anybody that has eaten here is familiar with that bad smell in the building. Well they fixed that too. It’s a lot more pleasurable standing inside while you wait on your food.
