Old Towne Pub — Restaurant in Clarkesville

I am genuinely sad. I had previously been here several times and really liked it.

However the last time I went we had a new, very nice server who was unfortunately also extremely slow and inaccurate. We got there about 8:15 and were stuck there for 2 hours, past closing time. We ordered as quickly as possible but were forgotten about multiple times, got wrong food orders and drink orders, and some of our items just never got to us, and then our bill was wrong. We are all very non-confrontational and tried to be understanding throughout and did not make a fuss of any kind, just asked the server to please correct the bill because there was an item on it that we did not receive and she said she would correct it.

The worst part was when the manager (who we did NOT ask to talk to) came over on her own to clarify why the bill was wrong and she clearly had no clue what had been going on with our server and our table (described above). The manager talked over us numerous times when we tried to discuss it further so we gave up bc we just wanted to leave. Then as she was fixing the bill someone flicked the lights at us (the universal “get out” signal) when truly we wanted nothing more than to have eaten and left an hour earlier. Sent an email through their online form but received no response so … here we are.

It was such a bonkers-awful experience that we’ve all now been avoiding this place for a couple months even though we really liked it before. I miss it, but anytime I think about it I have this awful association so I can’t bring...

If you want to fill your belly, enjoy your surroundings, and have good service, this is the place to go. Always satisfied, but never amazed with the food.

I had the fried chicken sandwich and tots. I would have asked if the fried chicken was fresh and hand-battered or frozen... It was frozen. I've never seen a piece of chicken so evenly flat, except at Mickey D's. (If it is made here, I would change your method. If it's really frozen, I would switch to fresh (you brine your wings, so why not care for the chicken sandwich).

My friend had the cheesesteak sandwich - shaved steak, caramelized onions and mushrooms. It says it's a half-pound, but I think that was with the bread.

Tots are always good...

I'd keep coming back, but I would not choose certain items twice. This is my third time here, so I felt I was qualified to generalize the food.

Music selection is good, prices are a dollar or two higher for the quality of food, and the wait staff is very good!

I would have given one star, but our server was amazing! This was my first time at this pub. We got 2 hotdogs, a kid's cheeseburger, an appetizer, 2 cocktails, and sweet tea. The bill was almost $67!! The hot dogs that I thought were foot longs had a base price of $9. I added cheese ($2), chili ($1.50), and coleslaw ($1). There was so little chili, I couldn't even taste it, and the cheese was extremely sparse (see photo)!! There was also a $2 upcharge for sweet potato fries, which I did not eat because they have no dipping sauce available for them. I couldn't even get butter. There was also a $1 upcharge for me having a strawberry margarita rather than plain, which I do not recall being on the menu. All in all it was over priced and not worth it.
