Well this is the first time eating here at the Copper Pot. I can guarantee it will be the last thanks to the manager Alex! My wife and her friend ordered a drink called the Lost Boys and simply asked to substitute Sprite for club soda. The waitress failed to advise us that the drinks from the menu could not changed. To be fair, in small lettering on the top left side it states that very thing. The manager Alex however made it a point to march over to our table immediately and explain to us that she was doing the ladies a favor by making the substitution and then she went over board making sure our elementary school aged brains understood that this type of activity would not happen again. Apparently they have mixologist that have masters degrees and have taken months to perfect such drinks as the Lost Boys. I have dined in at least 25 states in this country and I have never met such an arrogant manager anywhere. If you are a sheep and want to be told what to eat and drink this is the place for you. If you have an independent spirit and know what you like this is not the place for you. Stay away. I will update this post once we taste the food that was ordered. Stay tuned
Update**Update. Well service went down hill after manager Alex came to the table. I'm sure she berrated the the server. I ordered the daily special of grilled pulled pork cheese sandwich with Brunswick stew. The sandwich had pepper jam on the outside of the bread after being grilled and that was all you could taste. It supposedly had three cheeses inside but all you taste is jam jam and more jam! I had to use a fork to eat the stew because of the pulled pork would not stay on the spoon. The flavor was average at best. Food.....Fail! When you spend over 180.00 for four people to eat, the dinning experience and meal should be fantastic instead of less than average. Be sure you don't listen to sheep if they recommend the Copper Pot for a dinning experience! To whoever the "owner" is that responded to my post, the only sarcastic comment made was when the ladies wanted a different drink I told the waitress not to substitute anything and told her that we knew it was not her fault. Get the facts straight before you run off at the keyboard! She did a fine job serving and her tip reflected that. I'm sure youhave no idea what took place not being at your business on a Saturday evening. None of the factors concerning the drink issues are an excuse for the management being condescending and arrogant to customers that pay good money so your business can function and put food on your table at home! You should make sure your managers act accordingly so you can continue to thrive and take care of your own needs. Keep running customers off and the business will be no more. Every...
Read moreThis is in direct response to Mr. Long Long and "The Easons".
First: The reason Christin Eason has heard "nothing but good things" about our beloved Copper Pot is simply because The Copper Pot, nestled in our very own Clarkesville Ga, has nothing but good things to offer.
My wife and I have been regular patrons for well over a decade, and my brother, along with his girlfriend, have gathered almost every weekend for the past year as we indulge in the cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and friendly customer service that has yet to be matched!
Next: In response to Christin Eason's fictional retelling of tonight's events, I would like to point out that it was indeed myself and the above mentioned family/friends who were the "other table" which had "added a chair".
When we first became aware that "The Easons" and the unmistakable Mr. Long Long were upset, it was NOT because "the manager (from Long Long's one sentence review) was "rude".
However, what caught our attention was the loud, cantankerous Mr. Long Long himself, who, upon learning that the natural result of misrepresenting the number of people one reserves space for is to be placed on a wait list until an appropriate space is available, immediately rose from his seat, stood directly in "the manager's" face, and loudly proclaimed that she was not treating him fairly.
Calmly, "the manager" pointed out that Mr. Long Long and "The Easons" had made a reservation for 4, however 5 normal-sized human beings is what he instead arrived with.
"The Manger" then correctly pointed out that 5 normal sized humans could not, in fact, occupy the booth he was currently attempting to occupy.
The rude and audacious Mr. Long Long immediately turned to point directly at my family and myself as he loudly proclaimed, "But you gave them an extra seat????"
At this very frustrating juncture, the still calm/collected manager stated, matter-of-factly, "Yes, but they have a very small child and a baby", (for reference, our baby was nestled peacefully in his car seat on the floor beside my wife's feet), they can fit in that booth!"
Infuriated by facts, Mr. Long Long became vehement and notably more cantankerous, "Ahhhhhh, so they get treated different, eh??? I'll be writing a Google review about this place, lady!"
And with that, Mr. Long Long and the huffy-puffy "Easons" exited our beloved restaurant in a whirl of discontent, much to the relief of many present.
THAT is what really happened tonight.
I realize this has been a most extensive review, however, I felt it necessary to accurately portray the events of this evening in order to defend the honor of our most excellent Copper Pot!
If you are in the area, please stop by!
I promise, all the good things you will hear are...
Read moresecond time there. first time was great, this time..not even close. restraunt wasn't busy and service at first seemed prompt...until our food was ready and waiting for 15 minutes (in a still unbusy restraunt, while our waitress walked past it about 4 or 5 times acknowledging she saw the food was ready and waiting) while we waited..food came, was decent and lukewarm at best so the other party members didn't mind as it was Pizza. I had mine reheated after speaking with the manager. Then a new waitress came on shift and our old waitress stood behind the bar and proceeded to talk about our table and family while she was pointing and staring at us, saying God knows what. Then I even stated across the Un-crowded restraunt, that if she had something to say she could do so to my face. Not once did she EVER turn around! The new waitress came to check on us and I asked for the manager again, because at this point I felt my family and I had been completely disrespected in the most unprofessional manner possible. Even if the conversation was about our status as customers only it could have taken place somewhere out of site as to not cause this issue. Not to mention the original waitress knew I had caught her doing this, and she KEPT doing it! The manager came and I explained all of this and he apologized but I made it clear that I won't dine here again, and that I am refusing to pay for a meal after all of the occurrences(which is something that I don't ever do, and actually haven't ever done in the past at any restraunt I have visited, generally I always pay for our meal in full because I feel that is the fair thing to do. But today I just couldn't do that, because I truly felt completely disrespected and I felt my family had been as well which under ANY circumstance is UNACCEPTABLE) the manager was very understanding and cordial about everything and accepted my stance as a customer. When we left I saw him addressing the issue with the original waitress, and for that I am thankful. Needless to say my family and I will NOT EVER go back to this restraunt ESPECIALLY IF all their staff can offer is Lukewarm, mediocre food with a heaping side of...
