First off, HUSH is very brave to choose this location to open. This is a tough choice to run a restaurant. The kitchen in small, the accessibility for the wait staff to BOH is tough, the bathrooms are older, the FOH floor plan is bad no matter how it is laid out (and it has been redrawn multiple times). And then there is the afternoon sun that will try to kill the customers. And there is nowhere to put extras if there is a wait. So kudos to HUSH for making the most of a tough location. In order to succeed, the key will be food and service.
It was my first time to HUSH. We were greeted promptly with a smile. Seated immediately. The waiter was efficient and friendly. Our order was correct and complete. The timing of service was spot on, nothing came out too slow or fast. Our drinks were filled properly. I cannot speak to Cuban authenticity, however, it was not Mexican. It was definitely Latino. We had the Yuca Cheese Fritters, Black bean bowl with shrimp, and Boliche. We also had flans to-go. All of it was tasty and plate display was lovely. The food was really beautiful to look at when it arrived. That really helps. No one wants a smudged plate and HUSH makes a beautiful plate. The sauce with the cheese was decadent. The bowl was devoured. The roast in the Boliche was a little dry however we did come in at the end of the shift (7pm they close at 8) and sometimes end of evening roasts are overcooked in restaurants. The atmosphere was awesome. The artwork phenomenal. Loved the tables with bright colors.
There was an indication they might expand into the space next to them, which is ambitious. It might help with the terrain of the FOH being so badly laid out and perhaps they can fix the situation for the servers to ease their problems with ingress/egress to the kitchen. (Which they navigated beautifully while we were there.)
The experience while we were there was great. We will be back. And am very interested in one of the artists as well as the menu. Thank you for your contribution to our community on the square. Welcome to...
Read moreIf you're looking for Cuban cuisine in Clarksville, Georgia, your experience at Hush Cuban Kitchen will be transformed by one standout team member: Matthew. As a bartender who transcends the typical role, Matthew creates an atmosphere that's both electric and relaxing - a rare combination that keeps guests lingering long after their meals are finished.
His talent extends beyond mixing exceptional cocktails (though he certainly excels at that). Matthew has an uncanny ability to recommend the perfect dishes from the menu. Thanks to his suggestions, I discovered some true gems: the Georgia pan con lechon, which hits all the right notes, and the Vaca frita wrap, which has become a personal favorite. The yucca and cheese fritters deserve special mention - these appetizers are a masterclass in texture and flavor.
But what truly sets Matthew apart is his magnetic personality. He transforms a simple dining experience into an event worth remembering, keeping the energy high and the conversation flowing while ensuring every guest feels personally attended to. It's rare to find service that strikes such a perfect balance between professional and personable.
Hush Cuban Kitchen has found a true gem in Matthew. And the owners are fortunate to have him. His presence alone is worth the visit, and combined with the outstanding Cuban cuisine, it creates an experience that keeps customers coming back. If you're planning a visit, request a spot in his section - you...
Read moreI’m Cuban, so I was very excited this opened nearby but the dishes we got weren’t great and the service was pretty subpar.
We brought my grandma who’s visiting from Miami, and she didn’t enjoy her dish at all (the lechon). My husband and I thought our dishes were okay but very small portions for the price compared to other Cuban places (we both got palomilla). We were all disappointed in the rice. It was also very hot inside (our baby was visibly sweating).
The service was the main killer. Our server was not very friendly and never came back to check on us after taking the initial order. We had ordered an appetizer of croquetas that never came, and we reminded the server and it was brought once we had all finished our food. I’m glad we didn’t cancel the croquetas though because that was the item my family enjoyed most!
If you’re American you probably don’t care how authentic the dishes are, so you’d probably still enjoy this place! It’s a nice change of pace for the area. It’s definitely not bad, but if you’re Caribbean it’s just okay. (My grandma says the lechon was actually bad though).
We actually had the Hush Clayton location cater appetizers for our wedding but we’ve never dined there. The appetizers were good but the communication and service from Hush was horrible. From these two experiences I feel like their food has potential but their...
