Incredibly interesting establishment. A quarter turn past the doorway, you’re greeted by an ephemeral sign, with permanent instructions for dining in and life outside: ‘Stay off your phone, if possible; Embrace others.’ Some don’t make it past this point, I suppose…a shame… Another turn and the entirety of the restaurant is in full view, an impressive scene to say too little. Clean and contemporary, plenty of seating and space, decorations reflecting ubiquitous personality. Each employee is kind and patient as the next, exemplar. Ordered Crispy Pork Gyoza, Haru Maki, Atlantic Roll. Flavors are fresh, delicate, layered. Everything makes sense here. Gari tastes house made. They have wasabi tobiko, red tobiko, ikura and masago. They have king crab, softshell crab, and crab stick. All the offerings from urchin to eel and everything in between. This place gets an easy A+ and now that I know how fresh everything is I will be returning to try more special rolls/sashimi, noodle soups, and the countless other offerings I could not help but be overwhelmed by; The menu leaves an impression only outdone by the fine people running the restaurant. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and the food is ALWAYS great! I'm a repeat customer for almost 3 years and come here whether it be takeout or eating in at the restaurant. The sushi is always fresh, the options are endless, and always delicious. I’m now on a first name basis with the staff and they know my order by heart. I can truly appreciate them as that’s not expected at all! I see Atami as the best restaurant in the area. Service is amazingly fast and they’ll have you in and out the door in no time!! Ordered the 'Crazy for Fish' boat w/ 66 pcs amongst a group of 6 friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the sushi; ingredients weren't skimped & were fresh, high ingredient to rice ratio. There's also the complimentary edamame.

The place is by no means large as the layout allows you to see the entire seating area upon stepping through the door. The decor is forgettable (think typical sushi restaurant). Sushi chef & wait staff are hospitable and service was fast & efficient.
