We have been here several times and the service is typically very good, the food is good and comes out quick and the prices are good. The place is a little tight, kind of country rooster themed, I feel like this place has far better reviews for what you actually do get though. This place is just really an average shop who makes it by with good prices, decent portions, and thrives off of regulars. The last time we were there a waitress who was not ours at the time came around asking if any of us needed coffee refills, I made the huge mistake of holding the mug during the pour, the waitress spilled hot coffee all over my hand. I remained calm and the waitress apologized but never even came back with napkins or anything to clean my scolding hand or table and the pain seemed to increase, and even with my discomfort still no assistance was to be had. I spent the next few hours attempting to soothe my burn. Besides all of this the above is still true about the typically positive staff, food, and prices, but maybe more of a once in a while stop because anything more and this place...
Read moreThis cozy restaurant specializing in breakfast foods is a wonderful place. They offer high quality breakfast and brunch/lunch for a very good price, especially in the current economy. You can be assured that you will be full after eating here without burning a hole in your wallet. They also have a fun, unique decor that creates a nice atmosphere if you have good memories with your grandparents. Regardless of the atmosphere, the food is delicious and the servers are incredibly nice and helpful. Service is fast, but you don't feel rushed. The only downside to this location is that it is cash only, so either be prepared for that or be ready to use their ATM that charges a $3 fee to withdraw. It is really the only shortcoming. This location is amazing and gives you an incredible meal for the amount you pay. I highly recommend getting a breakfast sandwich on their hard rolls. Despite the name, their hard rolls are still soft to the touch and incredibly tasty! Super filling and wonderfully tasty. You can add extra eggs to any breakfast sandwich for only 75¢ per extra egg....
Read moreThis cute little café is tucked away on a little side street. Just like it's name, Rise & Shine, it has roosters as the motif and little suns that decorate the walls. You can tell who the regulars are as the lovely woman who served us called out greetings to them.
The woman who served us ran everything by herself and was not only friendly but efficient in everything that she did. I was never in need of anything as she came by and refilled our coffee.
The menu was also on the way cheap side. This place was probably the most affordable place that I have been to in a long while. A pancake was only $2.50. This is a cash only shop but they do have a working ATM in the back.
The sausage gravy and biscuits were delicious. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like home even when you're on vacation. I highly recommend stopping by this little café if you're in the area visiting.
Additional side note: all of the fruit in our fruit dish was fresh...
