Update: Service was good. Place has been renovated some. There are some fresh decor and furniture that updated the place but made it feel more fast food like. The menu has changed, no more fried green beans but there is chips and queso (weird and it wasn't great). You no longer watch them prepare your good and wait to pick it up, they bring it to your table. I have mixed feelings about this. As a Mongolian Grill, part of the joy is watching them make your food. You can still see them cooking behind the raw bar (which is cleaner now) but it's more like a restaurant with an open view to the kitchen than it is an experience - which is the appeal of a Mongolian Grill.
It would be nice to be able to see the sauces before you dispense it. Some of them are quite disappointing (not what I expected from the labeling) after you pump it into your sauce cup. There no place to dump out unwanted sauce, which would probably explain why the sauce station had so much sauce on the counter. Table delivery was excellent. Presentation remained the same. My food was surprisingly greasy, and sat in my stomach uncomfortably. You get a decent amount of food but I think you get more bang for your buck at a regular Asian restaurant, or even a Chinese buffet that has hibachi built in. Probably would not be back after this.
2019: Decent setup of a Mongolian Grill. Both the raw food station and the pickup food station could have been kept up better. I was not a fan that the raw food bowl gets dropped off at the same counter the cooked food gets picked up with preventative measures from contamination. The selection of meat and veggies were both good. The meat tongs could have used a cleaning (some were quite slimy) and something that promotes hand washing - a place to wash hands that doesn't require anyone to touch doors on the way in or out would be ideal. Overall a pretty good experience, food turned out great. I would definitely come...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. I used to love this restaurant. I have been to this restaurant at least 50 times in the past and always had a great experience. The last time I visited however it was awful and I will never go back. You now go in and order and pay for your meal immediately. There is no longer table service and you must get your own drinks and everything. They don't have the delicious ice tea selection they used to have( even though I ordered a peach tea and the girl did not tell me that they did not have it) and you get a paper cup to get your own drinks just like the dining room in McDonald's right down to the plastic silverware. I have been there several times since they reopened after covid19. It was not this way on any previous visit I have had since the pandemic. The only thing the staff did was bring my food from the grill to my table and take my order and money at the counter. Since you ring out first now...you tip the waitress first too if you pay with a card. I tipped 30% of the bill for no waitress. Our meal was not very good either. The steak meat was fatty with a lot of cartilage in it. The bowl was full of water...it looked like Mongolian soup instead of Mongolian grilled food. I ate a few bites, didn't like it, and threw it away. So did my daughter. The counter girl did not care. She watched us throwing it away and then went back to watching TV. I paid 40 dollars for 2 meals that went into the trash and then went to Burger King and we got whoppers instead. It was so...
Read moreThere was plenty of seating available on the main side of the restaurant near the grill, but we were seated in a distant corner, out of sight of most of the restaurant where we couldn't even see the grill area. There is a lot of wide open space in this place which could accommodate more tables and reduce wait times. After placing our order, we decided to abandon our isolated corner in favor of a more visible spot, and after about ten minutes, our server, who was nice if not a bit slow, brought us our tiny metal bowls for the buffet line. We were immediately concerned about the cross-contamination of the meats, which were located too close to one another and not divided in any way. I realize the meats were uncooked, but the beef and chicken looked very unappetizing, so I went for the seafood. The vegetable selection was decent, nothing exotic, standard veggies you'd find at Kroger's perhaps. The selection of dry rub seasonings and sauces was impressive; there were even plastic spoons nearby to sample the sauces. I particularly enjoyed the sriracha bourbon sauce. Once the server brought us our cooked bowls and added the starch, I noticed my udon looked more like spaghetti. That said, my meal was very tasty, but I expected that since I prepared it myself. In summary, it was an underwhelming experience and quite expensive as well. Final thoughts: no military discount and no weapons allowed. We will...
