Went with my family because my dad wanted to try this place while I was in town for the holidays. Absolutely horrible experience won’t be returning. Here’s the reasons why we weren’t greeted when we came in seems like the ONLY waiter was too busy talking to her coworkers to notice we came in until minutes later & the waiter didn’t have any type of customer service skills whatsoever didn’t even tell us her name , very unprofessional. Should have been our first red flags right there to leave but guess what it gets worse. She kept bugging us to get in our order every two minutes after we sat down like can we time to look at the menu but mind you we were the only ones in there other then this other family that was about to leave. She was super nice to them though! You can assume why. She didn’t give us any sliverware how did she expect us to eat our food?! like come on now. My dad had to get up & go find us some the workers wouldn’t even pay him attention for a second. She acted like hosting us was a chore & she was so busy doing other things. She didn’t ask us for refills or anything of that sort. Instead we were offered water. Felt like food portions should have been bigger. Each plate barely had fries on it. She was snappy with us & short. Maybe it was because she was racist because we are a diverse family crazy she let that reflect on our experience. She clearly didn’t want to be there it was very obvious to see or maybe not deal with us. She was only nice at the end when we were about to pay huh how convenient. Like she really thought with that service she was getting a tip sorry couldn’t justify it. Felt like she was rushing us out. It was 6pm when we went may I add. Overpriced for average food. Was clean in there though best thing i can say about this place , waste of money. Steer clear if you are a minority. Apparently race matters here & plays a huge part in your experience. It if I could give this place zero...
Read moreWe have eaten at this location many times as it is the most accessibile to this area for a sit down breakfast.
When business is slower, the service and food are more improved. On busy days, expect some drawbacks...Memorial Day, we ordered 4 Strawberry Waffle platters to go; we got home to find Strawberry pancakes and no eggs with any of those orders. We did get the meat we requested.
Consistently, while they butter their plain waffles, they will not butter, or send butter with Waffle orders that have any type of topping on them. Today, I tried explaining that I wanted my Waffle buttered, like their plain waffles, then put the topping on after that. What I received was a completely cold Waffle with a lump of butter on top and strawberries...no whipped topping. Getting this right has been an ongoing battle for them, at least the past 6 months.
Today, my bacon came barely cooked, but my waitress was quick to take it back and have it cooked more thoroughly; she also comped me 5.00 off my meal...since the cooking staff seemed to be having a bad day.
As to service; even on a busy day, they are fairly quick at getting you seated and wait times are usually15 minutes or less, at most of really busy days.
Most your waitstaff are fairly quick at providing service and keeping your drinks refreshed. As with any restaurant, there is the occasional slow one...but management are usually quick to observant deficiencies in service and render service themselves.
Most of the time, food is good here and served hot; just avoid the super busy days/times and holidays and I think you will be pleased.
Today, Sat 8:30-9:30 a.m. rush hour...I give them 3 stars, for cold Waffle, having to return bacon to be cooked, eggwhite was undercooked and the toast was soggy...
Read moreWe (party of two) walked into Huddle House for the first time. The seating lady was frazzled on seating us, she said “here” then “oh never mind someone is sitting there” and grabbed a laminated seating chart trying to figure out where to put us for a few minutes and seated us elsewhere. So right off the bat, not so great. We waited about 25 minutes before even getting drinks. 15 minutes before getting straws for our drinks. When we were ready to order and our waitress finally came back to our table, she was just laughing about everything and making jokes about forgetting straws. Earlier, before even asking us for drinks, she also specifically asked if we had been there before and we told her no. You would think, knowing it’s someones first time at a restaurant, they would at least try to give good service. Nope. She gave us each other’s drinks and food when it finally did come out. So she wasn’t listening. Some people had been sitting longer than we had and had not even had been approached for drinks yet. Meanwhile, a crowd of the staff was huddled around the kitchen window waiting for food to come out. Maybe that’s how the establishment got its name. Everyone was a chicken with their head cut off. The food was decent. You’re better off just going to Ihop or Cracker Barrel honestly. At least there the service is prompt and the food is great.
My significant other’s review: the bacon was good and that’s it.
Don’t waste your time here. It’s obvious they have staffing and training issues that were not addressed prior to opening. My advice: reopen when...
