My wife and I had a wonderful time at Dozo Japanese Cuisine, a new Japanese hibachi and sushi restaurant in Clarksville, TN. The service was excellent, the ambiance was cozy and modern, and the food was superb. We ordered the filet and shrimp, which came with steak, shrimp, fried rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. The steak was juicy and tender, the shrimp was succulent and crispy, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the soup and salad were refreshing and satisfying.
We were served by Mike, the chef and owner and he was very skilled and entertaining. It was just my wife and I and no one else at the table so we were all able to talk freely with Mike while he was preparing our meal. We got to learn a little about him and his journey and he made the whole experience fun and interactive.
The restaurant also has a great selection of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. I've tried several of the sushi platters and they were all delicious. The fish was fresh and smooth, and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The spicy tuna roll had a nice kick to it, and the salmon nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The presentation was also very appealing, with colorful sauces and garnishes.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Mike expressed several times how important quality was to him. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. They made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. They also followed all the safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant also has a full bar with sake, beer, wine, and cocktails.
I highly recommend Dozo Japanese Cuisine to anyone who loves Japanese food or hibachi. It is hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Clarksville, and one of the best I have ever been to. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. It was a truly fantastic and memorable experience. Thank you, DOZO JAPANESE CUISINE, for making our...
Read moreTerrible experience. Placed an order that said it was going to take 30 mins. Waited 20 and headed over meaning they had 35 mins to get it ready. Got there and only six tables used. I get asked what I need and told them I had a to go order. He then asked if I could show him the order which should have been my warning there. I showed him the online confirmation and he said it'll be right up. 17 mins go by with nothing and no one saying anything. A different person finally starts to come over and I'm thinking I'm finally getting an update or an apology for the delay or something but no, I'm again asked what I ordered. So I show my confirmation again and they again go to the order screen and start typing on the screen. 23 mins go by (I know, I'm stupid for even waiting this long) and the two people that have spoken with me start talking and looking over at me but nothing. Another five mins goes by and I just get up and leave. Worst experience I've had a hibachi place and a terrible way for a new restaurant to treat their customers. I was very excited to have a good hibachi place close but...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Dozo on our 29th wedding anniversary. This was the first time we had been there, and it will not be the last. Service was quick so we food not have to wait to receive our meals. From the time we walked in, we were greeted with kindness. Our server was so sweet and attentive. We ordered Crab Rangoon as an appetizer. The order had 5 savory filled pockets of deliciousness on the platter. My husband loves sushi and so he ordered the Amazing Roll, and he said it lived up to its name. It was loaded with tempura shrimp and cream cheese and topped with crab. Our entrees were next. I chose combo shrimp and steak while my husband chose tempura shrimp and vegetables. Both were delicious, seasoned well, and very large portions. I chose soup with mine while his came with the salad. The portions were large enough for us to have plenty for at least 2 more meals. This was a great choice for us to celebrate our anniversary, and we look forward to...
