NOV 2022 - Well, after much hype on a local social media group and the fact that I drive by this location pretty much every day on my way to work, I thought it was about time to walk through the doors and check out Camacho's Famous! We were quickly greeted and brought to a table right away. It did take someone a bit to get over to us to get our drink order, but since we had time to look over the menu we were able to place our whole order rather than just our drinks. Speaking of drinks, adding root beer to the menu would be great. We started off with some fried cheese raviolis...with their signature sauce. The raviolis were tasty, but the sauce was the star of this appetizer. It was a pretty creamy four cheese blend inside the raviolis, which was very good. The sauce on the other hand - such a great flavor, certainly not a canned sauce. Our pizza order was a Deep Dish with pepperoni, onions, and sweet peppers...this is our 'go-to' order for any pizza place. The pizza came out sooner than expected was placed on the sturdy stand on the table. For the record: It was our responsibility and job to dish out the pizza, if it fell off of the stand for no apparent reason, it would have been completely OUR fault because our waitress placed it on the stand and did nothing else to it. Needless to say, we had absolutely ZERO issues with the pizza falling or the sturdiness of the stand...but, I digress - on to the pizza. Delicious, delicious, delicious! I am not from Chicago and have never been to Chicago, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once and have frozen Lou Malnati's pizzas delivered, so that counts for something, right? House made sauce and crust was just right, the cheese was delicious too. It had the right consistency, saltiness, and pull when transferring slices to our plates. The toppings were generously spread over the whole pie as well, so there was no disappointment there...and the amount of veggies was just right. This was a really good pizza guys...I won't go so far as to say that it's the best pizza in town, but this is REALLY good and I think you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't try them out. I prefer another style of pizza based in another pretty big city, but I will let you, the reader, figure that out. From what I have gathered, it's certainly more authentic of a Chicago Deep Dish than any chain pizza place in town (even the one with Chicago in their name). Wish this place was open for lunch because ever since Chi-Town Hot Dogs closed down, I haven't found a good Chicago Dog anywhere and would really like to try one. Maybe I will get one as an appetizer next time! Would also like to give that Italian Beef Sandwich a try too!! The decor of the place is great, a little less Chicago stuff on the wall than I expected. They had three TVs going behind the bar...two showing your standard sports shows and one showing some good ol' fashion wrassling. Not sure if the owner is a fan of pro-wrestling, but it wouldn't hurt to have a framed poster of The Road Warriors on the wall since they hail from the South Side of Chicago and are the greatest wrestling tag-team of all time! Again, really good pizza, no significant issues with the wait staff, and the pizza didn't take as long to be brought to us as others have complained about. Highly recommend you try them out if you're reading this review and have not done so. UPDATE: 06/2023 - FINALLY heard that this spot was gonna be open for lunch, which made me really happy because I have been wanting to try their Chicago Dog for about seven months now. It was a very good dog. Put together well, and not overloaded with the toppings. Just the right amount of everything, but could have an additional dash of celery salt. Well done! We did get the basket of fries, and while I ate them, I really wish more restaurants would opt for fresh-cut fries over frozen. But I didn't come for the fries...it was good to have a Chicago Dog again because this town and I REALLY miss Chi-Town Dogs down off of Riverside.

I’m originally from the Chicagoland area and have always been a huge fan of Chicago style deep dish pizza. I bet you could imagine living in Western Kentucky, your choices are pretty limited if you want that Chicago pizza experience. I’ve traveled far and wide in search of a pizza pie that would take me back in time to my childhood home. I can honestly say that Camacho’s comes the closest in this area and trust me, I’ve tried a bunch of so-called Chicago style deep dish pizzas from here in Western Kentucky and all throughout the Nashville area. Their sauce is delicious and the toppings are even better. The crust is great and is what most places get wrong when trying to make Chicago style pizza. Camacho’s doesn’t. You are getting a truly authentic Chicago style deep dish, only several hours away in Clarksville, Tennessee. I enjoyed every last bite and was truly reminded of the food back home. The restaurant itself is fairly new and still trying to find its footing. I wish there was something to do while waiting on your food, which could be a while because Chicago deep dish takes a long time to cook. There were TVs at the bar, but I would have liked the option for a jukebox (maybe Touchtunes) or possibly a few old school arcade machines along one of the walls, or darts, or pool or anything. Again, the restaurant is new so I understand there are growing pains. No big deal, just a suggestion. The wait staff was very polite and accommodating. They made sure to check that everything was okay and kept the drink refills coming. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Camacho’s and found the food very delicious, but most importantly AUTHENTIC. They have earned a future customer.

While I always try to support local stand alone businesses. There are something’s you need to know before picking Camacho’s. This place is very high priced, and wait time for food can take awhile. The menu says CAN TAKE 45-60 minutes to cook deep dish or stuffed pizzas. NO, IT TAKES A MINIMUM OF 45 MINUTES TO COOK. Most of their pizzas are pushing $30. For a 1st time customer that’s a lot of money and time to wait for something you’re not sure of. So I decided to go with the Italian Beef Sandwich. $12.99. What you get is beef on bread. Peppers and cheese are extra. Now I can agree that cheese should be extra charge. But, There is nothing Italian about a sandwich that is just beef & bread. The combination of beef, peppers on a wet bun Is an Italian beef sandwich. With a small basket of fries and a drink. This was a $21.00 lunch. That wouldn’t be bad if they would have hit the mark. The sandwich was over seasoned and that’s all you could taste. It was very hard to find anything positive to build up the review higher than 2 stars. Owners/ Management you may be able pawn off the Chicago style theme of the residents of Clarksville. But you wouldn’t last very long in Windy City.

NOV 2022 - Well, after much hype on a local social media group and the fact that I drive by this location pretty much every day on my way to work, I thought it was about time to walk through the doors and check out Camacho's Famous!

Ill start off by saying i really was hoping to meet the owner andrew and have a beer :) .So i had a previous negative review on here and I've just deleted it.. im going to backtrack here a little..so I once had the pizza a few years ago back before there was an actual restaurant, back when you had to play the lottery to get a pizza... I wasn't Impressed, in fact i hated it.. idk what it was about the pizza is just did not like it ...since then I was always bitter and joined aby drama I had seen on fb about the place as well.. I have told Andrew I believe his name was that someday I'll try it out again and leave a new review based on my findings so here we are... recently I won a contest they had for how much some beef weighed in a picture so I decided this was my chance to bring myself and my family in for dinner... I got my free beef sandwich and order the deep dish pizza as well..I got my beef sandwich first, I was not prepared for what was about to happen.. I took a bite of the sandwich and immediately got wide eyed. It was the BEST damn sandwich I think I've ever eaten .. I couldn't believe how amazing it taste ..I could go on about how good it was but I'm already rambling as it is... point is I think I could live off it ... now for the pizza .. again I wasn't expecting much because I'm thinking what I experienced when he was first starting out out of his home. Well, I was wrong for ever talking shit about this place because the pizza was FCKING amazing as well.. Idk how both items exceeded my expectations as far as they did .. there was so much flavor in both items I got .. words can not describe how good the food was.. now in the back of my mind I was thinking " ya know, it's probably decent" but decent is not the word... im a man of honesty and can admit when I'm wrong about something and I was so far wrong about this place that I feel like a retard for even waiting this long to try it again .. im going to wrap this up and just say this is by far my favorite spot to eat now.. also I'd like to add that bri was on top of her game, she interacted with the kids and listened to our talks when we spoke to her even tho I feel like we just talked her ear off about my sons motocross racing lol either way..she listened .. so anyways this is a 5 star review and I hope this review gives any other people the thought about trying it again if they've had a bad prior experience... good job commachos you have made a believer out of me and the family.. WE...
