Keke’s Breakfast Cafe: A Mostly Satisfying Start to the Day
On May 23, 2025, my family and I visited Keke’s Breakfast Cafe for an early breakfast. Arriving at 8 a.m. with a party of seven, we were promptly greeted and seated, which set a positive tone for the meal. The service throughout was friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience.
Food & Flavor The menu at Keke’s offers a variety of breakfast staples, and most of our selections delivered on quality and taste. The Southwest Omelette was a standout, bursting with fresh tomatoes and jalapeños that added the perfect kick. The breakfast potatoes were well-seasoned and enjoyable, though a few pieces were undercooked.
Among our group, the Keke’s Combo was a popular choice, providing a hearty portion that satisfied both my wife and son. My oldest daughter opted for the same combo but paired it with the Florida Waffle, which was generously packed with fruit—a vibrant and refreshing touch. Meanwhile, my youngest daughter had the breakfast wrap, which she enjoyed but felt could have used some meat for extra flavor. My father-in-law’s French toast looked absolutely delicious, and my mother-in-law also went with the Keke’s Combo.
Disappointments & Surprises Unfortunately, the biggest letdown was the buttermilk pancakes. Given the price, I expected a rich, moist pancake, but instead received one that was dry and tough, making it difficult to enjoy. Adding to this, Keke’s does not offer real maple syrup a detail that surprised me. When I requested some, the syrup provided was unfortunately a substitute rather than the authentic version.
Final Thoughts Overall, Keke’s Breakfast Cafe provided a pleasant experience with great service and mostly enjoyable food. The omelette, potatoes, and fruit-packed waffle were delightful, but the pancakes left much to be desired. While the lack of real maple syrup was an unexpected downside, the variety and portion sizes made for a satisfying breakfast. Total spent was about $140 for 7 people not counting the tip.
⭐ Rating: 3.7/5– Worth a visit, but skip the pancakes unless they improve...
Read moreWhile the food may be pretty good, the service is not the greatest. It was always hard to get the server to bring things out we needed, constantly had to figure out where she was, wound up asking other servers/employees for things. Towards the end, we were waiting for to-go boxes, and an employee who was not our waitress was trying to clear our table and take our food/dishes without even asking. Then in the same breath some employee came up and asked us to leave because they have a long wait and wanted to sit a new group at our table (we were table of 2), but yet we were still waiting for our service to be finished! That is not how you treat customers, you don’t rush people out. Tried to go here recently again to see if a better experience, was quoted 25 min wait, which we never mind waiting because it’s part of the eating out experience and should be expected, and we would never want customers to be rushed through their dining experience like we were. But there were several tables open, at least 3-4 employees at the hostess stand giggling and not doing anything, and there was no sense of urgency to clean tables or attend to people waiting who had questions. They were more focused on to-go orders instead of the people there waiting to be seated and eat. We wound up leaving, went some where else and ate and was all ready to go by the time they actually texted us the table was ready, which was at that time an hour past when we arrived originally. As a family who comes from food management and serving experience, this place needs some training. Customer service can be improved as can the overall flow and efficiency of service - this would reduce their wait times and also make it easier on the staff if they were better at prioritizing and time management. Big disappointment as we love the orlando location and need something like this in town. There were a lot of disgruntled customers there, understandably so, and I know it can be a better experience and opportunity for Clarksville if they just work on a...

Nice check in option when they are busy - friendly employees, leave your number, and they will call/text you when the table is ready.
Open for breakfast and lunch only. It's brand new so the interior is nice and modern. The menu gives me a First Watch vibe, which is not a bad thing at all. A one page menu, breakfast on one side, lunch on the other. I really appreciate the healthy options, egg whites, turkey bacon and turkey sausage. Do you even realize how hard it is to find turkey bacon/sausage in the south?
Service was great. Friendly server, got our order correct, kept drinks refilled, and always checked on us.
Scrambled egg whites breakfast came with 5 egg whites, turkey sausage, and toast. The turkey sausage links were dry and overcooked though. Cooked well done with flat sides means they used the weighted press on grill.
Chicken and waffles is a meal I really enjoy and have had countless times at many different restaurants. This version was not for me. Since taste is really subjective, I am not going to count off points due to me not being a fan of the flavor. The spicy syrup was interesting and the chicken tenders were really nicely done. The waffle on the other hand, was completely overcooked. It was so crispy on top, it broke apart like a cracker when you got your bite (see photos). This was disappointing since Keke's specializes in pancakes and waffles.
At this time, I can only give them an overall 3 stars. I think part of this the growing pains of a new restaurant with new staff. I would wait a month or so for them to work out the kinks. I just expect a little more for a premium breakfast experience - especially when Clarksville is filled with many delicious lower cost...
