I visited the Wilma Rudolph location for my first time ever trying what most call "donut heaven"..well it was my first and last time I'll ever visit this location. I walk in with family to no greeting but a woman working behind the counter with a blue tooth head phone in her ear (talking to someone on her personal phone not business phone).. start to look at the selection (it is vast) at this point you would think you would get a greeting or a hey do you have any questions (you know a way a business normally does business or i dont know common courtesy?) Instead I am met with "what do you want?" Being it is my first time im unsure..there was no line so i took a little time to decide asked about the "bowtie donut" and pointed at it on the shelf to which im told that's not a bow tie.. well then what is it? It's a twist donut (the person behind the counter sighs and whispers something under her breath rolling her eyes) i said ok ill take the twist Cinnamon and sugar and my family orders the same one only glazed..in a rush the lady behind the counter slaps some buttons not asking if we would like anything else gives us the total we pay..i look in the bag and the donut i ordered is not Cinnamon and sugar but a glazed one...a simple miscommunication i thought considering the cinnamon and Sugar twists are right next to the glazed twists i mention it to the lady behind the counter very nicely to which she says o you said you wanted the glazed i said no im sorry i wanted the cinnamon and sugar twist no glaze the lady rips the bag from the counter rolls her eyes and quickly makes the change no apology no sorry i misunderstood nothing. I simply said to her "im sorry this is my first time coming to Shipley's and i guess i didnt know how this all worked sorry i inconvenienced you and "rushed" you being that you have no one in the store right now this is the first and last time ill be coming have a nice day." And boy is it a shame because the Cinnamon and Sugar twist was AMAZING!! I dont know if this lady was the manager but regardless a change of attitude would sure be in order..like other reviews said AWESOME donuts POOR customer...
Read moreI have purchased these donuts in the past. Sadly an ownership change has occurred since my last visit to the area and the quality has dropped. It is another donut shop that has fallen victim to a prefab system of fillings that are pretty much garbage. Yes, they are sweet and they have a good taste but the quality is lacking. It didn’t help that the person working the counter wouldn’t get off their telephone long enough to take my order and was rude when I wasn’t moving fast enough for them so they could get back to the telephone call. they kind of acted nice to me while I was purchasing my donuts but the second the transaction went through they went back to being completely rude and...
Read moreShipley's is an OK donut shop. I enjoy their donuts but there is 1 place I enjoy more. And when I went to Shipley's the other day it was only 7:30 in the morning and they didn't have the donut I wanted (glaze white cream filled) and wouldn't make me one either. That disappointed me a lot because I made it a point to stop there before I went to work. They did t have any powder cream filled either, all they had was chocolate but I don't like chocolate donuts my suggestion is, don't fill them all up in the morning with custard, raspberry, cherry, and all the other flavors you have, do a few at a time, and make more of what you...
