I know that this restaurant gets a lot of great reviews, but I wasn't overly impressed. I was there well after lunch hour around 1:30, with hardly any other customers, but everything took too long: taking my order, receiving my food, checking to see if I needed anything (which I did--more salsa, when the tiny bowl they give you quickly ran out), and finally receiving my check. I was nearly at the end of my meal when I finally got my second bowl of salsa for the rest of the chips.

Upon placing my order, I was confused by the tamales description in the menu. It refers to "chicken, pork, and red." Since "red" certainly doesn't sound like a type of filling, I had to ask what it is. The waitress (and I think this Mexican lady must be one of the owners) didn't understand what I meant. After a little more struggle, she said it means red sauce. Obviously, this makes no sense since most people wouldn't want just red sauce on top of masa. So then I pointed out that the description of Deluxe Tamales also says "with cheese on top and red sauce" besides the "chicken, pork, and red" filling options; therefore the "red" option must be something different than red sauce. At this point, the discussion was becoming way too complicated considering the language barrier. So I gave up and just ordered a Deluxe pork tamale. Well, then she says they're...

Giving one star because zero is not an option. We were almost attacked by the waitress/owner after complaining that the dish we ordered was spoiled. It escalated to the point- at the time that I was paying, when I complained about having to pay for a plate that was not eaten and SPOILED! she proceeded to yell and accuse us of doing this often and being jealous of her success! I don’t even know this woman. The whole thing was just so unsettling, I’ve never ever been treated this way or felt physically threatened by anyone as I did at this restaurant. She seemed very unstable and the way she handled the entire situation was very unfortunate and unprofessional! I will NOT be returning here and will be telling this story to everyone I know, as I would not want anyone to have to experience that me and family went through at this place. The food is not great, it’s pricey and the dish we ordered was spoiled!!!!! I would never post a negative review, but this one definitely deserves a post. Be ware and prepared to eat...

I personally love to eat here every 2 weeks The food is good And the waiters are kind I love talking to the owner she tend to make me smile a lot since we been eating here for years. The only small thing I didnt quite liked is stale chips. (Rare to get, most of the time the chips are good) but other than that i love eating here. I totally recommend it! (Update- well the service have declined a lot, the last time we went, we sat there for 10 minutes and we got no service whatsoever and we can see the waitresses just sitting, idk if they didn't hear us or not, but we straight up walked out of there, this isn't the first time) (Update 2) Well the same waitress that didn't serve us is gone, now there is a waiter who is very attentive, kinda sad that not many people come and...

Me and my sons always want Mexican food, we can go for 3-5 times a week. My wife occasionally likes Mexican. Like twice a month. This place changes that. We ate here 2 days ago, I had leftover for lunch today, then tonight she says, how about carryout from La Lupita, and I'm like, yeah...BET! The gorditas and tlayuda are top notch! Edit, 5 months later, still our favorite. Adding updated menu pictures. The Platillo Oaxaqueno may be my new favorite dish, featuring their amazing Mole and Guacamole. Plus their table salsa is SO GOOD.

Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The service was excellent and the quality of food was outstanding. Normally when you go to a restaurant and it is slow is the best way to see how good it'll be. We walked in and it was empty so I was wary however, with 15 mins the place was packed. I failed to notice until we went to pay our check because I had a hot piping meal in front of me. Then the cherry on top was delicious churros to finish it off an great meal for a steal at $2.50.

This place popped up on my phone in a news review and they said if you've never been here it's probably one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in the state of Indiana, my wife and I drove an hour and 15 minutes to eat lunch I would have to say it's the best Mexican food that I'd ever had, so if you like authentic you are going to love it.
