Wendy's — Restaurant in Clawson

I just visited Wendy's at 1421 N Main St, Clawson, MI. This had to be the single worst fast food service experience that I have ever encountered in my over 50 years of consuming fast food.

First I had to wait several minutes at the order station. There was nobody ahead of me? The attitude of the order taker/cashier was awful. She acted like I was putting her out by placing a double order for two adults. She did not greet me. She just said "'what do you want?" I ordered a #1 single meal with a medium coke and #2 double meal with a medium coke. Pretty straight forward?

There was nobody behind me in the drive-thru lane. The cashier takes my debit card and returns it without a receipt. Then I start waiting. . . 5 minutes goes by, still no food insight. Then she comes back to the window and asks me to pull-up so they can wait on the cars behind me. I ask why and she says we're cooking that double for you. Three vehicles drive around me and still no food. After waiting for at least 10 minutes, I shut my car off and go inside and ask for the manager. I tell her I want a refund. She tells me I need to be patient because it takes 10 minutes to cook a double! I tell her that is not true because a double simply has two single patties on it and so what's the difference?

She yells back at me and says "you want a refund on the food in that bag we just cooked for you" trying to intimidate me and I stand my ground and say yes! Then she tells a worker to pitch the meal they had just prepared for me into the garbage can. He looks at her like shes crazy and she repeats her order to throw it in the garbage.

I had placed by debit card on the counter so she could process my refund. She ignores it and walks away and goes back to serving other customers who were in the drive-thru line. I wait another several minutes while she is ignoring me and hoping I will leave without a refund.

Finally another worker asks why I was waiting at the counter and I told him I am waiting on my refund. He repeats my request to the manager who is over by the drive-thru window ignoring me. I finally threaten in a loud voice to call the Clawson Police Dept on my cell phone. Then she comes over and says "where is your receipt". I said the cashier did not give me one, so the cook pages back through about six orders and finds mine for $15.83, and the manager gave me cash out of the register and threw it on the counter in front of me.

I then drove over to McDonalds and ordered roughly the same meal there for the same price, but with two large cokes and received much better service. They even asked me if I wanted a carrier for the two large drinks. I was greeted when I pulled-up and thanked multiple times at the register window and at the food window and told to have a nice day as I pulled away.

A night and day difference in customer service between the two restaurant chains. After this experience and the threatening attitude of the manager at the Clawson Wendy's, neither I nor my wife will ever shop at that...

I ordered food on the app 10/14/23 around 1:00 p.m.and arrived at the drive-thru. The woman working the second window asked me to pull forward to the door and she would bring my food right out. I waited for 20 minutes and nobody brought anything out. In the meantime vehicles coming through the drive-thru leaving with food and going around me. Finally I shut the car off and tried to go inside to see what was going on but the door was locked on that side of the building. So I had to wait for a car to leave the drive-thru window so I could walk up to it before the next car pulled up standing in the rain asking where my food was? She looked at me like she had no idea who I was and I said you told me you were going to bring the food out and she goes oh it's right here turns around behind her and it's sitting on the counter. Hands me my food and drink. Doesn't say sorry or anything. I walk back to my car open the bag to make sure it's right and the food is cold obviously from sitting there for 20 minutes or however long. I wasn't going to go back so I left with cold food after 20 minutes of waiting. I wish I had read the reviews for this particular location first and I wouldn't have bothered so now add mine to the mix. I can't believe whoever owns this or is managing it doesn't look or seem to respond to the reviews. Wendy's corporate might need to step in and try to straighten this place out. This location is giving Wendy's a bad name. The employee didn't seem to care I was sitting there for 20 minutes waiting for food that she was supposed to bring out or so she said. So now I'm attempting to eat my cold lunch. Whoever is in charge of this location needs to read...

Where should I begin?well I was actually an Employee there and now I’m no longer biting my tongue!!on 1/3/25 there was feces and urine running down the hallway from the bathrooms,which is why the lobby was closed yesterday.none of the condiments are ever fresh,sometimes to keep the meat warm we use to fill up metal containers with the hot water from the coffee machine and put the meat in them,some people make sandwiches with their bare hands,I wouldn’t buy a frosty from there if you guys could see the black stuff that comes out of those machines,I’ve watched people drop food on the nasty floors in that store which are never cleaned properly and sell it to customers!!!!the nuggets and Chicken are never fully cooked through,and yes certain things are re dropped in the grease for the “keep it fresh” look and taste!!that’s correct ladies and gentlemen from 10-12am the meat you guys are served sits in metal containers with hot water to keep warm and look fresh!!!the pop machines are never cleaned,and we just recently started to break the frosty machines down completely to clean the properly,wanna know how you guys frostys are made after 10pm?we take cups with our hands and dip them inside of metal buckets to fill you guys cups,sometimes people do it with the gloves they’ve had on while touching bloody meat that they were cooking!!!not to mention the reason why women have a hard time using the rest room there is because us men employees also use that “woman’s” restroom and urinate all over the toilet seat due to the men’s restroom never...
