La Hermosa Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Claymont

My wife and I recently visited the restaurant and we were thoroughly impressed with our experience.

When we arrived, they greeted us with complimentary chips accompanied by two delicious salsas and a fantastic crab salad.

My wife ordered the birria tacos and I opted for a variety of tacos - cabeza, carnitas, and al pastor. I liked that I was able to order 3 different types of tacos. While all were delicious, the cabeza taco stood out as the clear winner. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The food felt like authentic Mexican food from the salsas to the meat.

The parking was a breeze, with plenty of spaces available right outside the restaurant.

My husband and I dined recently at La Hermosa and had a delicious, authentic Mexican meal. He had the Cubana Torta, the largest sandwich he’s ever gotten on a plate, and I had the Chicken Tostada. There was plenty of ingredients on each. The waitress was friendly and attentive. They’ve been open for about a year so the furnishings are newer and clean. They had a Spanish language news program on the TV which added to the “authentic” experience. You won’t be disappointed if you check this place out because you have a hunger for good Mexican food. I hope they stay open for a long, long time. And I almost forgot to mention the complementary tortilla chips and three different salsas, all very good. But the star of the appetizer was the crab dip. I absolutely LOVE this place. We've only gotten pickup so far and have been very happy every time. The staff are all very nice, the food is always amazing, and the prices are very reasonable for how much food they give. The quesabirria tacos are the best I've had, and they also use really great chips and crumbly cheese for their nachos. 100% our favorite Mexican restaurant and really just one of our top...
