I hesitated on writing this review as I can normally write off a bad dish or bad service as a bad day at the restaurant. Here though—I couldn’t go without saying something.
For starters.. I’ve been here twice now and have tried a few different things with my husband. The first time I had a chicken caesar wrap. It was absolutely flavorless. The pulled chicken is vile. My husband came in a bit later and ordered loaded tots with pork and sweet barbecue sauce. By the time we got our food the tots were soggy and had WAY too much cheese and sauce on them. The only upside of the meal was the blueberry soda that isn’t even supplied by the restaurant!
The second time around it was a similar deal. My husband and I ordered a mango habanero chicken sandwich to split as to give this place a second chance. The sandwich only came with 2 cucumbers which didn’t do anything but diminish the flavor. It was alright though.
Now here’s the kicker. Both times we were in the manager or owner was extremely rude to not only his customers but to his employees as well. The poor girls (who look no older than 16 might I add) that work at the front just get verbally assaulted by a 40 something year old man! And then he has the audacity to take over the computer system and not even know how to work it. The girls seem to only make simple mistakes than can be fixed with a quick correction but instead they get 10 minute long word vomit from some half witted adult man who’s clearly got either girlfriend or mommy issues. I feel bad for whatever woman that might reproduce with him.
So all in all.. the food is mediocre, the owner/manager is not only incompetent but extremely rude as well, and the workers are probably so exhausted from his tirades that your meal will most likely be messed up. But at least the blueberry soda is good.. I hope the girls read this and know they’re doing great. I hope the owner reads this and understands that the general consensus is that he...
Read moreI had the worst first time experience here. The young lady there was great no complaints however Alex who ever he was, was soo nasty and rude to me for no reason, I’ve lived in Delaware for 9yrs and been saying im going to explore my area more. So I decided to walk around claymont and decided to try this bbq place. So I did I ordered the salmon, shrimp, crab, lobster over rice and garlic cream sauce. And received salmon and veggies. Upon noticing my order was wrong the young lady took my order and they threw the missing portions on but I never ordered veggies when made the young girl aware she notified Alex and said it comes with it, I said it don’t, he said you got it for free deal with it and walked away. I’m old enough to be his mother and I could have been allergic to veggies but he didn’t care and unfortunately the pleasant owner lefted to store right before the ignorance of Alex. I have had businesses like Just Waffles Bae in Christiana mall and would never allow my employees to get away with the rudeness. I’m a mom of 7 and I spent close to $100 and couldn’t believe how rude Alex was telling me to deal with it when his cook made my order wrong. Although the food was good I will not return due to his customer service. Not to mention when I told him I’m going to leave my review he ok go ahead. He has no experience with...
Read moreI support locally owned small businesses and I really wanted to love this place. I first tried UJBBQ at a Jiu Jitsu event from their food truck and this past week decided to go to the location in hopes it would be better.
Let’s start off with what I like. Chicken tenders- smack. Fries- smack. The girl that helped me order was super friendly. (Let’s be honest though, how hard is it to be nice, and drop frozen food into a fryer…)
I had the brisket sandwich both from the food truck and location and it’s not brisket. It tastes like crock pot pot roast at best. No smokey flavor and over cooked. I guess they only have sliced brisket on the weekends because that’s the only time they actually smoke a brisket.
I had the mac and cheese from the location. It’s watery and a weird choice of pasta. But the worst part was in my mac and cheese was a piece of waxy deli paper that I had to pull out of my mouth. I wasn’t even going to leave a review about sub-par barbecue until I pulled a foreign object out of my mouth. I’m not sure why I can’t add a photo to this review because I took one after I pulled said paper from my mouth.
The food tasted like it’s someone’s job and not their passion. You can’t sell pot roast and call it brisket. Not to me at least. I’m leaving this review not to bash the restaurant but in hopes they decide...
