Wawa — Restaurant in Claymont

I recently visited Wawa at 2621 Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, DE, and I was thoroughly impressed! Wawa is a convenient stop offering a wide range of products and services, making it a great place for a quick visit.

The selection of fresh food is fantastic, including a variety of hot and cold snacks, sandwiches, and drinks. I was particularly impressed with the freshly made sandwiches, which were delicious and satisfying. Their drink options are diverse, ensuring there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for coffee, smoothies, or something else.

In addition to food, Wawa offers fuel services at competitive prices, making it an ideal spot for a quick refuel while you're on the go. They also have electric vehicle charging stations, which is a huge plus for EV owners.

The service was friendly and efficient, and the staff made sure everything was taken care of. The store was clean and well-organized, with ample parking and accessibility for people with disabilities.

The customer service at this Wawa has exceeded any other Wawa location or other convenience store I have been to. I had an issue with the amount charged on my gas purchase early one morning but I was running late to work so I had to call the store about the charge. Daniel was kind enough to review the video footage of my gas pump to determine what went wrong and discovered that someone had stolen gas from my pump while I was running in to get coffee.

In no way was Daniel obligated to refund my money because I shouldn't have left my pump unattended in the first place (and I NEVER will again!) but he pretty much followed up with me and said "mistakes happen" and refunded me what was stolen from my card. Hopefully, the store is able to catch the guy stealing from peoples pumps and file a police report using the footage form my incident.

Note to anyone at ANY store: DO NOT...DO NOT leave your pump unattended at any time. I was lucky enough to have a worker that went above and beyond to help me with the theft but I can't say that for anyone else this...

If these walls could talk.......... This is a place I've seen it all. It's honestly just a staple to the Claymont community at this point. Staff is usually nice the younger folk can be a tad angsty but I can only imagine the stuff they put up with working 12 hour shifts. Huge plus is it's 24 hours, which after Midnight is when the most bizzare yet facinating in a way folk come out lol. I still find myself always coming back here for whatever little late night snacks or for gas. Even with the homeless people usually wandering about, people yelling / fighting, drunk adults and children staring at snacks and the lotto machine, severely tired staff etc... I wouldn't trade this Wawa for another gas station in the world. Truly is the gas station wonder if the world and for that I give it a 4/5 for having all the things you need in a convenient store from cigs to munchies any hour of the day. (5/5 in my heart for all the insane memories and things I've witnessed at this...
