Walking into a clean dining room, with a view of the kitchen and salsa bar, and a straightforward menu overhead above the counter, I felt the familiar surroundings of a great lunch time spot. Ahead of me in line were working men who typically know where to find a good value on great food. These were little signs of confirmation that I was in the right place.

Rather than going out on a limb at a new place, I decided to continue with the tried and true, and ordered the al pastor taco. Anytime your lunch disappears faster than you planned, you have a pretty good idea that it was enjoyable. The pork was very tender, the salsas on the salsa bar complemented the meat well and allowed me to build some different flavor profiles in the three or four bites that it took to finish the taco. Of particular note was some coleslaw or something similar that incorporated chili flakes, and very finely shredded cabbage and carrots. It was excellent, and I would go back just to taste that again, along with trying a couple of other tacos that looked like they would be very good.

It seemed from the menu that they kind of have a focus on seafood tacos, both shrimp and regular fish, and I would be inclined to get back there and try those sooner rather than later. Overall a really good option conveniently located in Smithfield, and clean with good straightforward...

Went there an hour before close, the waitress was sweeping the floor and gave us an annoyed look when we walked in she turned to the cook and asked her if they were still open and the cook said take out only. Which would be fine if we had eaten there before but when you’re trying out a place, take out is usually not the best to get the full experience and quality of food, but we decided to try it anyway since we don’t live too far. We walked up to the counter and we asked a few questions about the menu the waitress who was taking our order just seemed really annoyed and was being rude and rolling her eyes, she didn’t know any of the answers to the menu questions so she was asking the cook who then was answering us but also really rude and seeming annoyed. I would understand if we came in right before close but it was a full hour before. Then we get our food, take it home and both our meals were wrong (my fault for not checking before we left but at that point I was just really uncomfortable and wanted to leave). The food was not great, not bad but not worth the attitude and further drive than the flowers location. The flowers Don Beto’s is a bit pricier but the overall experience and better food is...

AMAZING AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD!!! The lady behind the counter looks like she's prob the owner. Makes everything homemade with fresh ingredients from the tastes and looks of things. I cook 90% of mine and my kids meals and am from LA, CA...I typically do not like Mexican food outside of my own cooking very much but Don Betos hooked me.

Just beware of their level of spice. Her homemade salsa def has a kick but is so flavorful it's worth the sacrifice of a few sweat beads 😁. It's not too bad. Just not for lil' ones or anyone with an ulcer.

Oh and they ARE OPEN FOR BREAKFAST BUT DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST. Let me explain...so they're about the only place open at 8am during the week if you want a burrito of some sort however they do NOT MAKE eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc.

Regardless we were so pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and her Customer Service was superb!!! Seriously!!! Offered to make me eggs on the side of a dish and was extremely helpful even though she was super busy with the 10 construction guys that walked-in in front of my other half and I.

It's a lil' whole in the wall and doesn't look like much but don't let that deter you.

Highly Recommend!!!!! Going back for sure for...

Muy bien!! This place is great!! I was so happy to find real Mexican food in Clayton, NC! The customer service was family style and very respectful. It was clear some people didn’t speak to me because they don’t speak English well, but still did their best to be nice to me and serve me. Being from South Texas, this felt like home. The consomé (basically, a dipping soup) was great! The chicken quesadilla had real cheese (not American cheese), the tacos came with limes, cilantro, onions, asada (or any other meats I would’ve desired). The arroz (rice) was solid, and I’m happy! The only “okay” thing in my opinion, were the refried beans. I’ll be back when i visit my family here!

This place is absolutely amazing. It's the perfect for just sitting and enjoying the food. Never to crowded, good vibes, and of course great food. When we got there they had various choices for food. They had pescatarian friendly options along with amazing drinks like horchata. I had the birria taco ( red tacos). It was 3 for ten dollars, and it was fabulous. It had a crunchy outside, came with a cup of sauce, a tiny cup of rice, then cilantro, lime, and onion on the side. This was a yummy meal ☺️ but definitely don't get if you really are hungry! It satisfies you yet definitely for like a lunch! Anyways I really recommend to come and enjoy the food 😋.

This place used to be our go-to for real tacos. Now it’s just not worth it anymore. On top of their prices continuously rising, they charge 3% extra for using card payment vs cash. We understand it’s a smaller business, but they have plenty of traffic to not push that cost onto the customer. Then on top of all of this, the last time we ordered from them, the limes were bad. Not bad tasting, but they were brown and going bad. Side note, the amount of cilantro and onions included now is just sad.
