Waffle House — Restaurant in Clayton

I stop at this location for breakfast on my way home to Atlanta from Cherokee once in a while. This last visit was terrible. I ordered cheese omelette with one slice of cheese, steamed hash browns and an order of sausage and coffee. The omelette had 2 slices of cheese making it uneditable for me. The hashbrowns wasn’t steamed. I literally picked it up and waved it like a flag. The sausage came after I finished what I could eat. The coffee was old and cold. It was disgusting. There were flies everywhere. The waitress never checked on us to see if everything was okay. Never got a fresh refill on coffee. All of the staff seemed to be more interested in socializing than waiting on customers. I was trying to pay for my sorry excuse of a breakfast and she was busy yakking with others. So I threw the money on table and left. The person I was with left her a decent tip. If it was up to me I would have left a quarter. I will NOT...

Always a great experience. I'm partial though. I love everyone there. My sister Jammie works most mornings and my daughter Abigail works on the weekends. (LeeAnn) Mom has managed this store for years and does her best for everyone. BJ is like family. We love Sabrina and her awesome sweet tea. Denise is not blood but is family. Jamie is relatively new but she rocks at cooking and Abigail says she is awesome. Then there is Donald... Them eyes will get you.. lol.. He can come off as a little arrogant at times and then the next thing you know you like him.. I feel he is a great addition to this store. He is an awesome cook who stays on top of his job. He will definitely impress you and is good at asking you how your food and service was. Well I could go on and on but you get it. We are all a hot mess but we make the best of the mess that we can. If I could give zero stars I would. The sweet young man tried so hard. He was all by himself. Then some guys came in who were incredibly rude to him. The cook was useless. The young server called out all the orders correctly we have 12 people who heard him do so. The cook was constantly on his phone via air pods. He claims that the young man did not give him the order correctly which is a lie. The young man was crying because he was so overwhelmed and those guys were extremely rude to him. We tried to tell him that he was doing a great job and to just breath. He was extremely apologetic before he left. He would be a great asset to your company with the right training. I hire and fire people for a living daily. I have to tell you that headphones should be forbidden while working as extreme phone use. It is unprofessional.
