Horrible experience! Where do I begin..... No covid precautions at all. Spoons and forks not wrapped and in a metal bin for everyone to touch and grab. Same with large bottles of sauces, Everyone touching and using the same bottle. No hand sanitizer and tables very close together, almost unable to even walk between the tables. Staff is not friendly at all, food was bad. Rude, unfriendly staff and manager/owner is the most unfriendly of them all. We ordered the "New on the menu " egg rolls. They were horrible, greasy, cold and soggy. The frozen egg roll from Costco are much better. I have had Vietnamese fried egg rolls at other places and they are fantastic. These were inedible. Next was the pho and hot and spicy soup. Both were tasteless and needed a lot of their “soup sauce” and sriracha added in to have any sort of flavor. The hot and spicy broth had a Sewer water aftertaste. The curry noodle bowl was okay. The sandwiches were not bad, good bread but tough meat. Teriyaki rice bowl was mediocre. The boba drink was expensive and no good. The boba was hard and undercooked. The boba were stuck to each other and did not fit through the large straw to suck up. We love boba and order it whenever we can. This was one of the worst I have had. We have eaten here several times before and food was decent enough for us to return. We live in Farmington so it is easier than going to SLC on a weeknight. Not anymore. I will drive the extra 15 minutes The final straw was when we asked for a container to take the leftovers to our dogs, and there was a charge for a to go container. I have never in my entire life been charged for a to go container And they call themselves self service and have signs all over to clean up after yourself, but still have a place for a tip on the receipt. I always leave a tip and did this time as well , left 10% since it was " self serve" I would not recommend pho banh and will not ever be returning. DRIVE TO SLC if you are carving...
Read moreI would eat here again, although I think having read other reviews helped me enjoy it a little more than if I had gone in blind.
We walked up to the counter, made our order, and then took our number to our seat. There was nothing fancy or frilly about it, which was fine. The people we saw working there were really nice.
Our food came out pretty fast and we got everything we ordered. The chicken spring rolls were indeed BIG and we both really enjoyed the sauce that came with them (it was had some spice to it). I had a chicken curry sandwich and it was quite good. I saved the other half for the next day and I think it held up well. The chicken spring rolls were saved for the next day too and held up well also.
My girlfriend had chicken pho and seemed very pleased with it, she really liked the sprouts. She seemed to like our egg rolls, but wasn't as fond of the dumplings (I liked them though). This was a bus your own table establishment, with notes around that said bussing your own table helped keep costs down. They had large bottles of condiments and some silverware and then the chopsticks in the paper packets. They also had a thing of Lysol wipes next to all of that. So we cleaned off the bottles we used and also wiped down our table. I can see where some people wouldn't be too thrilled about it, but knowing that ahead of time I think made it a better experience for us.
Overall I think it was reasonably priced, tasty, and very quick (although it was very slow when we were in, so I don't know what it would be like if it was busy). I'd certainly...
Read moreAnother long time customer here; who has observed some really disappointing changes. Like others have speculated, I'm not sure if ownership has changed, but this place has gone WAY downhill. Specifically, the customer service and the cleanliness. Stopped in on Saturday afternoon, only one other customer in the restaurant. There were three tables that had dishes, food and trash left on them. The young man that I've seen in there for some time, working the register; had a facial expression and body language like he was very put-out, when he saw us approaching the counter. There was another young guy, and two young girls, just hanging out behind the counter. Playing, flirting, trying to suck each other up with a big vacuum, making tik-tok videos. They continually walked in and out of the restaurant to hang out, outside the front doors, constantly just walking by dirty tables and dishes. Also, what's the rule on really long hair that's not tied back at all, while working in food service?? Dialogue between us and the employees was very awkward, minimal/no eye contact. Awkward, muffled mumbles during replies. Uncensored, vulgar Niki Minaj music is always pretty fitting for a family atmosphere, isn't it? The whole atmosphere gave me serious concern about the cleanliness, hygiene and overall safe food handling practices of the whole operation. Despite whatever the food quality is, I absolutely will never return. Just not worth giving this business my money. *I would really suggest going to Kim Long Vietnamese...
