My friend and I hit Wasatch Wok right at opening time (11:00 a.m.), so the place was quiet, perfect for two lunch adventurers seeking fortune… and fried rice. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken lunch special, which came with fried rice, an egg roll, and soup. I went with the egg drop soup, and unlike some places, it wasn’t crammed with peas, corn, or “mystery vegetables.” Simple, clean, and just fine. The service? Fast, friendly, and attentive. Our waiter checked on us more often than my mom does when I forget to call. I didn’t really need anything, but it was nice to know he was ready to rescue me if General Tso mutinied. Now, General Tso’s Chicken usually packs some heat, but mine was about as spicy as a Hallmark movie marathon. The chicken was a bit chewier than I’m used to, but paired with the rice and egg roll, it all balanced out into a pretty pleasant lunch. The menu is extensive, Thai and Chinese options galore, so clearly I’ll need to come back and keep rolling the dice. Speaking of dice, my fortune cookie at the end said: “Now is the time to try something new.” Pretty fitting for my first time here. Either that’s fate… or the cookies are in on the marketing strategy. Bottom line: Wasatch Wok is friendly, tasty, and full of options.

Had a good date night at Wasatch Wok tonight. The food was pretty good. I especially liked the Thai Panang Chicken. We also ordered tangerine chicken that was pretty good as well. Serving sizes were large, and we had some to take home after. I was surprised that it was only us and one other couple in the restaurant. I would recommend and go again.

This evening for dinner we decided to try a new Chinese joint, sadly it wasn’t that good. My kung poa chicken was more vegetables (celery and zucchini) than it was chicken. The mandarin chicken was decent and the sauce was good. The best things were the appetizers, crab cheese wontons and char shu, delicious! The service was great too!

I'm pretty frustrated. This is the closest Chinese restaurant to me so I decided to try it. Got Shrimp Lo Mein, was different than what I'm used to, but honestly really good. What I'm upset about is I called it in as a take out order. When I went to pick up the food he said it would be "$18.50." I thought maybe he misspoke or I misheard him. I figured that was pretty expensive for Shrimp Lo Mein. Since it was my first time I thought it might just be the price or this was going to be the most or best Lo Mein I've had in my life. It was neither and I'm pretty confident I just got swindled and upcharged. I don't even know why. Maybe it's a rough month and he needs the extra money, idk. Even looked at their menu afterwards and it was listed as $13. Won't be ordering or eating here again. I'll continue going to other places for Chinese food. Heck, Panda Express would have been a...

I am not a person bash restuarants, but this was one of the worst chinese restuarants in utah. Bless the waitress's heart she was really nice. The egg drop soup was really gross, its as if it came out of a can. They need to add more oil to it to make it thicker or add some more flavor. The sesame chicken sauce was super light and really tasty. But I jumped into a problem, one of the pieces was extremely over cooked and was basically a rock. I tried stabbing it multiple times to see if I could just crunch it. I bit into it a little bit, but didnt want to risk cracking a tooth. This would have been a huge problem if I damaged one of my teeth. The eggroll was really gross and really flakey beyond measure. And I ended up paying $15?! Lol I undeestand they charge a lot for the space they are in. But come on $15? I am sure they have better food, the sesame chicken dinner was...
