We used to really like going to this location, last time we went (a few months ago) it wasn't too bad but it wasn't as good as usual.
Today was not so great at all. Salad came out with the food and was told I would have had to specifically ask for it to come out first if I had wanted it before that. No, the server should ask me if I want it first if it's not automatically going to come out that way like almost every other restaurant does because it's normal practice. I had been looking for my waitress to ask for it after too much time had passed and by the time I saw her and asked it was already being trayed with our meals.
My food came out barely warm and then sat and got colder as I tried to quickly eat my salad. No one should have to do that. Hushpuppies were tough. Im pretty sure they make a bunch at a time and serve as needed rather than fry to order. This is a poor quality decision.
Then the big plain baked potato I ordered wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter I put on it and I did so before I started eating my salad. It also tasted like it had been sitting out for quite awhile. I get that those have to be made in advance but it was not good, not hot, and for almost $6 I should have been given something more edible.
My husbands food arrived "warm". Not hot.
Lastly, they now take your order on an electronic device that also processes payments. So rather than drop off your check and allow you to look at it and get a card ready and let them know you are ready to pay our server put the check on the table and then just stood there. Like wanting us to immediately pay her. I was like yeah we'll get to it in a minute as we had also been handed to-go boxes and needed to deal with that.
And when you do pay you are handed the machine and it's so awkward for them to stand over you while you are entering the tip amount. Bad decision to use these machines as it didn't seem to speed anything up and just made the check and payment process weird. I noticed another customer in the same scrambling to pull his card out while his server stood there waiting to be paid.
We used to go here all the time but we won't be back again after this and I feel like money was definitely wasted on poor quality food tonight. Super frustrating when you leave an establishment feeling that way.
Two stars because my husband liked his food he just wished it had been hot and the servers are nice even if we barely saw ours when she got busy with a...
Read moreMy family eats here often, so obviously we enjoy the food and the service. However, on our trip tonight my wife ordered the hamburger "steak". It's advertised as an 8 oz chopped steak. When ordered, the waitress asked how she would like it cooked.
What came out was a beef patty that was smaller than a dollar bill and about as thick as two quarters stacked on each other. I'm pretty sure that the McDonald's $1.00 hamburger has more meat. Cooked to order? LOL It was so thin the only options were cooked or raw. There's no way that patty started out anywhere near 8 oz.
I mentioned it to the cashier on the way out that we eat there often and the food was always great; but that I'd have been embarrassed to serve the hamburger steak. All I got was a very quick "i'm sorry" but nothing more. Another waitress obviously heard me suggest they should take it off the menu if that's the best they could do as she nodded in agreement.
Disappointed in the food; and more disappointed in the response to...
Read more“Take Those Blinders Off” I will never... just left this place. Walked in with the family. Heard the food was great. Sat down for about 4 min. Another couple comes in sat down across from us. Waitress went with menus and asked for their drink order. Within 30 seconds she brought their drinks. We got up to proceed to the exit. The waitress looked at me and I said we were here before them and we continued out the door. Before we made it to the car the waitress came out and said “ I’m sorry I did not see y’all ”. I said no- when we entered you were at the counter and we were in your line of sight. She said I go where my boss tell me. I said we are done and you chose not to see us. I will say this- Your staff represent your business. If they are not fully aware it can cost you greatly. Customer service training does not stop once you are hired. Some businesses need diversity training and diversity awareness. This is...
