Grace Coffee Company — Restaurant in Clemson

As harsh as this sounds, I feel like you can tell whether or not your coffee will be bad based on the baristas. I thought this place was super cute because it's in their little underground ally. It was really busy so that's typically a good sign. It was very quiet and everyone was studying. I ordered a pumpkin pie and cinnamon roll latte and my boyfriend got a pumpkin pie frappe. Here's where I have my issues. We got our drinks and they were not good. I always add hazelnut to my coffee when it doesn't have good flavor, so my boyfriend took it up to them and asked for hazelnut. The barista then proceeded to completely disregard my boyfriend and yell across the room at me asking what I wanted. That really broke the silence of the room and made everyone look at me. It was honestly so embarrassing. I walked up quickly to the counter and just asked her to add some hazelnut because it didn't have enough flavor and l'd pay for extra flavor. Overall the service was lacking. The staff seemed to not really want me to be there and were more interested in their phone. It was especially awkward when I requested granular sugar. I had been directed to a drink station only to find simple syrup and sugar substitutes. I asked the person working for granulated sugar and she said there was none and returned back to her phone.
