Poke Star — Restaurant in Clemson

I’m extremely disappointed to have to write this review. I had made an online order for pick up and due to the clemson game, the roads were blocked and we couldn’t get out there. Later in the evening after the roads were reopened, we called to ask if our order was still there. A girl answered the phone and told us that she had not seen an order for my name and heavily implied it was either stolen or never received in their system. As it was probably 30 minutes before they closed, we decided to wait until the next day to go there and hopefully come to a solution. We arrived there and a man at the counter said that our order was made and had sat out all day yesterday cause no one came to get it. We were told that our order wasn’t even there by a girl the previous day. I’m extremely upset as we did not receive a refund or have our food remade. They didn’t want to remedy the situation for us at all which is extremely disappointing as we were regular, repeat customers on several occasions. There has even been a time where we ordered and the drive was 20 minutes for us but when we got there, there was a woman who said she’d remake our bowls since it had been sitting out “for a while.” We insisted that wasn’t necessary but she showed us so much kindness and I hoped that we would have gotten that when we went in about our problem yesterday. I love to support my local restaurants and establishments but unfortunately, I will not be returning to Poke Star after...

If you’re looking for fast service, nice people, fresh food, and a place with gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan options this is the place for you.

It is much more conveniently located for students than Red Bowl and it’s both faster and quieter than Red Bowl and Sushi 356.

Give it a chance. I know this place doesn’t seem like much because it is usually empty (the entire reason it was given a one star review by another person), but i think that’s just because it’s new and people are afraid to try something new. The person who works the front sometimes goes to the back but if you walk in they’ll promptly come to greet you. I think a lot of people also take it to go instead of eating there which greatly affects the number of people you see there.

Honestly next time you’re thinking of going to Moe’s or Chipotle try this place out instead. You’ll get your food much faster.

I had been eyeballing this store for MONTHS! My boyfriend saw they offered ramen and we finally got to go! I also never tried poke bowls, but I love raw salmon and spicy tuna so I was excited! I was a bit overwhelmed since it was my first time, but it’s exactly like ordering a sub! The lady helping us was very kind and cool! The salmon and spicy tuna with ponzu sauce was DELICIOUS! It tasted fresh and the spicy tuna tasted just the way I like it! (The spices and flavor hides the taste of the strong tuna 😆)And compared to a sushi roll, this filled me up wayy more!
