I first en ountered Mission BBQ in Oklahoma after returning home from a deployment to South Korea. This food reminded me of that welcoming back sensation and experience so much! The food was amazing! The atmosphere definitely felt welcoming and warm. They had military, fire, police, and emergency responder patches all over the walls. The barbecue was exceptional, and I definitely recommend the strip steak! The Chopped Brisket Sandwich was on point, and I got it with a side of Maggie's Macaroni and Cheese! Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was great, but that mac and cheese was worth writing a letter home to my mom about, and she lives 10 minutes down the road! My wife got the Two Meat Sampler, and she had the turkey and pulled pork! She said their were yummy! She had them with a piece of cornbread and coleslaw. For dessert, we had the banana pudding and blueberry cobbler. The banan pudding was also very yummy, but that blueberry cobbler quickly disappeared to my wife's side of the table once she took a bite. I was lucky to get a small portion of it, but it was still very, very good. I learned about the rewards program they have and signed up, and so when I go back, I will get a free sandwich, but I am looking forward to the sides just as much as the meat options. I highly recommend coming here for the great barbecue, the great environment, and the blueberry cobbler! Thank you to all of the staff who showed their appreciation towards me as a veteran. I will always be a loyal customer.

We frequently have lunch at Portillos. During one of our recent visits we noticed that a barbecue place was being built next door. Today was my wife and I's first visit to the newish Mission BBQ. Whilst standing in line I was thinking about a pulled pork sandwich. I was struggling to read some of the fine print on the menu board. I noticed that baby back ribs had three choices: $3.?? per rib, $14 for 5 ribs, and a bigger bunch of ribs. The wife and I are old, and don't eat much, so we split 5 ribs. With fries and a soda as an order, and then added a second soda. We were pleasantly surprised at the tenderness and taste of the ribs. The meat fell off the bones. The fries were good too. I like fries with skin on them. The food was delicious, so we'll be back. The service was all with a smile. As we were eating, we were offered a taste of the smoked prime rib. My wife is a good cook; her taste is much more refined than mine. She liked everything, which means that it guaranteed to be good. One of the drawbacks is that the restaurant is located on highway 50. That road is no longer any fun to drive on. The other drawback is that its next to Portillos. When we come we'll need to decide where to eat. Like is full of tough decisions.

I have grown up eating barbecue, being from the south. I have eaten at almost all the barbecue restaurants in central Florida. We tried this in Thursday. The meats were good nothing special. The portion sizes were very small for the prices. We got two orders of three meats and 2 sides and ribs and 2 sides. The cost was over $60. We asked the young lady how many sides came with the threes meats, 1/2. She said you can get either. To me that means they come with it. Well after we go lt the total she said no each side is like $3.5. So we just paid and took it home to eat. After we got home each meat portion was as bout as the size of my fiancé’s palm of her hand. It could fit in the small sides containers. Plus they forgot our ribs. So we had to drive all the way back to get it. Yes they gave us two small deserts for the trouble but now we had to reheat our food. I rank this as third in clermont. 4th if you include winter garden. Black bear, Sonny’s, and then mission. 4 rivers is still the best in the area. If you want to spend more for less and still enjoy the food. This is your place. Just check your to go before leaving. I give this place 2 years before it’s empty.

Ordering food is a nightmare ! The cashier did not have any kind of empathy , mercy courtesy towards my 82 yr old grandmother when trying to place a simple food order , she made her feel incapable all she wanted was brisket and shrimp the cashier kept on saying you can’t order that it’s not possible and when she made my grandma not take the shrimp, and only set the for brisket only then she be little and made fun of my grandma cause she didn’t know how many ounces she would need to eat and then the rude cashier said it will be very expensive if you add anything else to the brisket and if you can’t afford a drink just order water , my grandma was so ashamed and so disgusted I was standing behind her while this rude cashier was degrading my grandmother, I jumped in immediately and asked for her manager she said non were available but I can contact the web if I had any issues ! I was not going to let my grandma feelings go unheard ! I grabbed granny wheelchair and we left hwy 50 mission barbecue I will never go back there again because of what this cashier did to my grandmother and did not allow me to defend her with a manager cause per this evil cashier no manager available! Too rude too complicated just to order a simple brisket and shrimp! We learned our lesson I took her next door , longhorn such a sweet welcoming difference compared to Mission Barbecue the y said hello , they sat us down immediately, they talked to us asked granny how was her day , they served us drinks asap, wonderful hot fresh bread with butter, we both ate sirloin steak, 8 big grilled shrimps salad, soup, large baked potatoe with all the fixings loaded sour cream bacon scallions butter all for 23.99 all the bread and butter you want we had to grab a couple of take home boxes and their strawberry short cake was very tasty, thank you Mission Barbecue for your rudness towards elderly folks, it made us go next door to longhorn pleasant experience non judgmental we didn’t have to take a course prior to ordering with a nasty cashier and we saved a ton of money and got so so much more bang for our food and granny got her shrimp! Amen never will we go to Mission Barbecue they don’t deserve any stars zero you folks are terrible people towards the elder community! I say shame on you ! G-d bless your soul! My first visit to Mission BBQ, Clermont FL will not be my last. Service and food were just outstanding. The young man taking my order was courteous and professional, repeating my order back to me to ensure accuracy. Within 6-7 minutes of my order, I was called to pick it up. The plate of food was piping hot fresh off the line. The food? Baby Back Ribs, Cheesy Potatoes, Collard Greens, and Corn Bread. Ribs had a beautiful smoke ring. Juicy, moist, and fall off the bone tender. All their meats are smoked daily in-house and to perfection with beautiful smoke rings surrounding the meats. The sauces I used at the table were Tupelo Honey Heat, KC Classic, Memphis Belle, and another with the word Gator in the name, sorry. All are very good and made fresh in-house. Collard Greens are freshly made in-house daily and provide a true Southern flavor with just the right twang and smokiness. Lip-smacking good. The Cheesy Potatoes were so delicious and tasted fantastic that I could not stop eating them. The cornbread is moist, sweet, and baked to perfection just like Grandma used to make, and in-house. Last word on the food; the good-sized portions are perfect. The interior atmosphere is very inviting and calming. So much military memorabilia, but included are our local 1st responders who protect you and I.

If you didn't know, this is a Veteran owned/operated company and each store is managed by veterans. The 2 I had the pleasure of meeting this evening truly believe in the company's vision; to make the best Barbeque meals for the country they served and protected and continue to give back and support our...
