Ritter's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Clermont

I am confident Ritter’s Frozen Custard is the best ice cream/dessert shop in the entirely of Florida. It’s not technically ice cream - it’s frozen custard, which tastes way creamier and better! I have been visiting here ever since I was a kid, for probably 15+ years, and I am just as captivated by this place today as I was the first time I walked through those doors. I have been here hundreds of times, tried pretty much every flavor multiple times, almost every type of sundae, float, glacier, and other combination on their menu, and have gotten their cakes and to-go ice creams on many occasions. I can easily say you pretty much can never go wrong here. After all, just like any ice cream shop, they have samples! So try and few and pick your favorite!

My go-to order is a medium glacier with whatever is my favorite flavor of the day. My top favorite flavors at Ritter’s are: cookies ‘n crème, dreamsicle, cinnamon, caramel apple, banana, black raspberry chip, peaches ‘n crème, egg nog, black walnut, nutty aunt ella, pumpkin praline pecan, turtle somethin’, amaretto, coffee espresso, cotton candy, and spicy chocolate! If any of those flavors are available when you’re there, ask to try them!! I always like to add Heath Bar, Snickers, cookie dough or chocolate shavings to the glacier. The best thing about Ritters is the flavors are always constantly changing, so you could go every day of the month and have something new! Be sure to check their Facebook page (make sure it’s the Clermont location) to see which flavors are available that day!

Another great thing I like ordering a lot is the Turtle Sundae. I like it with many of the different flavors I mentioned above - the caramel and fudge with whipped cream, nuts and cherries is a wonderful combination! One thing you’ll love about Ritter’s is their seasonal holiday-themed flavors are some of the best they offer. It builds up so much anticipation knowing Christmas is getting closer and closer, and soon enough, egg nog will be available!!

Ritter’s Frozen Custard offers the best ice cream cakes for kids by far: I had them many times for my birthdays as a kid and I was so happy whenever we got them. Definitely consider for a birthday celebration! And all in all, the employees are usually very friendly, the place is always clean, parking is good, and it’s very conveniently-located right off Highway 50! I could spend all day writing all the best things about Ritter’s, but I think you get the picture. Once you go here the first time, it certainly won’t...

It's amasing that this place is part of a chain, as it seems so much like a "Mom & Pop" shop. We are always greeted with a genuine hello, as if we are well known... like in a small town... which Clermont is not. The frozen custards and Italian ices are made right there and NEVER have that freezer taste. Each day there is an assortment of new flavours... making it a challenge not to stop by more frequently. The shop is always a clean and enjoyable place to enjoy your variety of frozen custard choices: in your standard cake or waffle cone, in a cup, as a sundae or milkshake, etc. They even have an assortment of frozen custard cakes available for purchase! The staff there are consistently friendly & efficient... and always encourage their customers to try small samples; which make it even more difficult to decide what you want. 😉 Riley is their best server... be sure to drop by when she's working! I’m soo heart broken to write this review but I’m actually a bit annoyed with Ritters in clermont. I love Ritters banana ice cream and the banana pudding ice cream. I follow their Facebook and plan accordingly to get it on the days they have it. The last two times I have come into the shop they don’t have it and the reason is they just don’t follow their own menu they publish. The past two times I have driven 20 mins to get the ice cream and the employee tells me well I don’t know when we will have it. In the past I would call up to see if they had it before making the drive and I have been told hold on and have even been told “I’m with a customer, you’ll have to wait or check our social media page.” So here is to my last time stopping at Ritters today as I’m no longer going to...
