I went to Edison last night and I didn't have a good experience. The lady at the front counter was unpleasant, short (not in height but attitude) and snappy. I didn't feel "welcomed". She then says "it'll be 50 mins on your order. 50 MINS. THAT'S 8:50!." I was ok with this. I ordered $45 worth of pizza and didn't get a receipt for the purchase. By this being my first time I didn't know how things went so I asked if I was supposed to get a receipt and she nastily says "you don't get a receipt if you pay with cash." (Even know she was taking orders of a carbon copy restuarant order slip.) I say ok. I go take my family to the ice cream parlor across the street (where I had a pleasant visit) and wait.) I come for my order at 8:52 so I won't be pressuring anyone. She pulls my pizzas from under the counter (no warmer/ no warming stations), says nothing and starts taking an order. At this point I'm ready to get out this place. I take my pizzas to check them to make sure my orders are correct. At this point I discover the pizza are cool (as in temperature) but it's not the right toppings. I go back in. She appears to be agitated. I ask her to read my receipt just to double check I gave my order right. I had. She says "pepperoni sau oh oh oh, that wasn't the right pizza?" At this time I say can i just get my money for the sausage? " she says "we can just throw some sausage on this one (as she pulling pizzas or the freezer.) I say "no that's ok because I'm not waiting another 50 mins for pizza". She says it'll only be 20 mins." "Ok I'll go get the others out the car." I come back with from the car with the pizzas (thinking my pizzas age in the oven) and she says "do you just want the money back." I say ma'am, that's what I just asked you before I went out to the car and got these pizzas." Please just give ne my money so I can go. What happened from the counter to the car back? It may just be my theory, but I feel as if they didn't want previously black owned pizzas. We all agreed on the new pizzas until I walked out. I wont be patronizing here...

Want to feel like a jerk for patronizing an establishment? Try Edison's. Me and my wife were out for our anniversary on a Sunday evening and ordered a pizza for carry out 35 minutes before close. The woman answered the phone and didn't sound happy to answer my call. She then proceeded to.drive home the fact that that would be closed at 10, and asked nonless than 3 times if Incould be there before 10p.m. for pick up. Hey lady, no problem. I'm a 10 mn walk away, and I have a vehicle. Be there in 4 mns. We settled our bill where we were, and showed up 10 mns before close for the pizza. She remained nasty, and the pizza wasnt ready until after 10. Hey, no big deal. But dont drill me for timeliness if you're going to go over on your order. The pizza? Usually good. People rave about them not being shy on the toppings. Well, they are not. But sometimes less is more. I tried to order a deluxe and was promptly and rudely informed thatvthey dont sell a deluxe. The pizza starts at cheese and additional toppings are extra. Like, ok lady, you ever HEARD of a deluxe pizza? Could you begin to imagine the 5 toppings I might expect on this mystical pie? How about: mushroom, onion, green bell pepper, pepperoni and sausage? Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? Eventually we got it figured out. Got the pie home and: poorly executed. Onions were raw and particularly offensive. The dough was likewise underdone, raw under the sauce.

If I could sum this up for you, it would be this: only order a pie in the middle of a shift as to not hurt the fragile sensibilities of the staff handling the phones, and only order one topping pizzas. Or pizza by the slice, which would also qualify as a 1 topping pizza. Maybe some day down the road I'll find myself there again, and hungry for a slice. But I'm not intending to return to Edison's for pizza again...

I gave 4 stars because of the service. I had never been to this place before. I walked in and started to give the lady my order. I decided to create my own medium pizza with various different toppings and i also ordered a salad. The lady taking my order kept asking if the topping were all for one pizza which seemed weird. Anyways i finish putting my order in and then she tells me it will take them and hour to get started on my pizza. I was like well that would have been nice to know BEFORE putting my order in. We canceled the order and started to walk out when the guy who was cutting the pizzas said hey guys we do have cheese and pepperoni pizza available by the slice that’s ready now! We then ordered with him some slices of cheese pizza. He asked if this was our first time and we told him yes. He then told us he was going to give us some honey on the house! We were confused but apparently it’s a cleveland thing to put honey on pizza. It was actually pretty good! If we are ever back in Cleveland i would try this place again, but i would definitely only order pizza by...

EDIT: over a year in and we order almost weekly - cannot speak highly enough about their great pizza! Edison's has great pizza and is open late. It does not deliver, and you have to order WAY in advance to get a full pizza for pickup. They have one over and two belts, so their production is limited. Their pizza is worth the hassle that comes with planning so far ahead, though. I dont know what it is about the pizza that makes it so good, but I keep coming back for more! I have found calling 90-120 min ahead of when you want to pick up wins the best way to order...if you wait until you are hungry, you will end up or8from Crust or some other pizza shop that requires less lead time. If you just want a slice during the Ummer, they have a great outdoor window you can walk up to and order. They have other, non-pizza menu items as well, and I would encourage you to check them out. But in the end, the only reason we order.from them is their delicious pizza!
