I brought my family here to have brunch on Christmas after opening gifts. We chose this place because most places were closed but I remembered this place being good years ago so I figured why not. Our waitress was very slow and seemed very unknowledgeable, she didn't even know that the corner beef hash and large chucks of onion in it which would have been great to know since I don't like onions and that's what I ordered, she offered to have something else made for me but I was willing to try it just to avoid having to wait for more food while the rest of my family ate their food. Apparently I should have opted for different food because I got two bites into my corned beef hash omelette and almost ate a huge piece of paper!!!! Apparently the cook forgot to take the paper off of my cheese and just left it in my food! On top of my food having paper in it my son got the chicken sandwich and it had a long black hair in it so they did remake his food and the second plate had hair in it as well!!! My daughter ordered her egg over medium which means all the whites are cooked and the yolk partially cooked but instead it was so underdone even the whites were still runny!!! Everything else tasted mediocre at best, needless to say we will never be dining at this establishment again and I suggest if you're considering going to this place...
Read moreWent there on Father's day. They were so busy they stopped taking Togo orders; but the staff was still friendly, efficient, and attentive. The menu was huge and covered a little of everything from things I never heard of to familiar comfort foods. Being as busy as it was, (I was told Father's day was their second busiet day of the year) I figured that I better have plenty to talk about thinking the food would take forever. Boy was I wrong. I ordered a "go to" favorite.. Country fried steak. It was one of the best I have ever tasted.. And I am a country boy... I know my CFSs. I had the options of the standard white gravy, brown, something else I don't remember, or their special house gravy. I opteded for the house special. The waitress said it was a brown gravy but hard to describe. And she was right. I would love the recipe...brown gravy with a hint of lemon and something sweet. It looks like a restaurant that your grandparents started going to when it first open and they haven't changed since cause they have no reason. Don't let the dated look fool you.. Great food.. Great staff.. Hey don't try to fix what is not broken. Definitely will go again when I...
Read moreMy first and last time here. Not a friendly place. I get that it's Thanksgiving Day. Did it ever occur to you why some people go to a restaurant alone on a day that more than likely they would eat breakfast with their family? For me, the last thing I need or want on Thanksgiving Day is bad attitude, and that's what was being served today.
I asked for cream for my coffee and the response I got, in a snippy tone, was "I'll get it in a minute...we just opened. When I thanked the server twice, when she brought my food, (the same one that gave me the coffee) I would think she would have said "Your welcome" instead of just stomping away. When I paid and said "Happy Thanksgiving" to the person (a different person) who took my payment, all she wanted to know was how much of a tip I was leaving...I would think she at least would have said "Happy Thanksgiving" in return...even if she didn't care about it or mean it...instead of turning away to the work she was doing and not say anything. The food wasn't worth the attitude. I can get bad attitude just about anywhere without having...
